Donald Trump Jr. slams Time for choosing Greta Thunberg as Person of the Year

Donald Trump Jr. blasted Time on Twitter for choosing teen climate activist Greta Thunberg as Person of the Year.

Trump Jr. suggested the pro-democracy protesters who have rocked Hong Kong should have been given the title instead.

"Time leaves out the Hong Kong Protesters fighting for their lives and freedoms to push a teen being used as a marketing gimmick," he tweeted. "How dare you?"

The comment, "How dare you?" is seemingly another jab at Thunberg. The teen famously asked world leaders that same question during an emotional speech at the United Nations in New York City in September.

Edward Felsenthal, Time's editor-in-chief, described Thunberg, who is the youngest person to be named Person of the Year, as the "biggest voice on the biggest issue facing the planet," The Hill reported.

While Trump Jr. has criticized the magazine's choice, other notable political figures and celebrities have praised the pick and the 16-year-old's work.

Sen. Cory Booker was among the 2020 candidates to congratulate Thunberg. Hillary Clinton tweeted that she "couldn't think of a better" choice.

"I am grateful for all she's done to raise awareness of the climate crisis and her willingness to tell hard, motivating truths," Clinton said.

Nice pose. Not too self-important, are we?

I am willing to wager that her "carbon footprint" is way larger than mine. But, as an elite-in-training, I guess she is entitled.

Whenever I see "the planet" used as a personification, I can't help but picture a cartoon figure of the Earth, a blue ball with green continents, crisscrossed by latitude and longitude lines, one side of which bears a grumpy cartoon face with a long blue nose. Stars and galaxies speckle the background.

She’s the chosen spokesperson for the movement. Even the “school strikes for climate” were astroturf.

Swedish schoolgirl who refused to take part in one of campaigner Greta Thunberg’s ‘climate strikes’ is

‘bullied by her own teacher’ and labelled a ‘climate denier’

Now if Greta went to China and got them to clean up then that would be something. They would promptly put het in a re-education camp.

Oh for Pete’s sake, get over it. Trump will be Man of the Year again next year when he wins re-election.

Is there a line in whether she makes years old?

That’s one unhealthy abused teenager.

Normally a minor so physically undeveloped for their age would be a red flag.

“Is there a line in whether she makes years old?”

That should be “line on whether she makes 20 years old.”

I’ve noted that too. She looks about 12 but she’s almost 17. What’s up with that?

And will we ever learn, who is behind Greta? How is it, that she was allowed to leave school for an entire year, to go on this magical mystery tour of the world?

Who is that 20 something woman, who accompanies Greta everywhere, who is apparently her chaperone? Who is paying that woman to shepherd Greta around?

Who paid Greta’s travel and living expenses while she travels the world?

There are a lot of questions as to how some obscure teenager somehow comes forward and becomes a big celebrity, pushing a liberal cause of the day.

Because she is pushing global warming, an approved liberal cause, it’s ok. Whatever mental problems she has will be overlooked and even celebrated, because she’s “on the right side of history”.
