Greens won their first seat in Brighton Pavilion.
“SNP make AOC look like Trump. Real nutters.”
Agreed - but the Scots seemed all revved up about them. IIRC, they’ve taken seat from Labour, the Tories and even the Liberal Democrats. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
Theyll still fall short of 55.
500 ridings declared. 150 to go.
Stoke On Trent Central just flipped Blue!
Kensington also went to the Tories tonight.
Congrats Brit Fam!
Just out of curiousity - where does Northern Ireland fit into all this?
The major players, SF, DUP, etc - where do they all stand on Brexit?
I’m still under the belief that Brexit is more about negotiating changes in the EU than leaving outright. I think that’s how most Brexiters see it, as well.
On paper, I’m not opposed to the concept of the EU, as long as its’ focus is primarily on economic efficiency. But the current EU just has way too much power and control.
We shall see. But I won’t be surprised if the endgame is that Britain stays, but on more favorable terms.
Northen Ireland flipped so it now uncharted territory. The Independence party have 9 seats total to 8 for the Unionist. Seem Scotland and NI want to stay in the EU
Bassetlaw had an 18% swing to the Tories. Talk about a blowout riding flip!
Heck, we don’t know.
Last I heard of the Tories was when George Washington kicked them out of Virginia.
Now, it seems, they’re on our side...
Well, anyway, congrats to the Brits! Seems they’ve made a good choice.
Tories are 14 seats shy of a majority.
Looking at the BBC’s website...
In the London metro area, the LD has taken Tory seats in Richmond Park and St Albans. Labour has taken a Tory seat in Putney. The Tories have taken a seat from Labour in Kensington.
Lots of seats still not reporting in that area. Not sure we can glean any trends from these early results in London.
now 322....4 to go to get majority
now 326....ticks over to majority at midnight EST
The BBC’s seat has just updated...
N other seat changes (so far) in the London metro area.
There are still some districts reporting but London appears to be full on Labour. Maybe in the next day or so, I’ll see if Labour suffered any loss of votes in the districts they held in London.
Tories just clinched a majority government with 326 seats!!!
Excellent. It’s done.
Everything else is gravy - necessary gravy but this is a relief.
329-—like playing a “hot” slot machine... ;-)
