For the first time, top beauty pageants Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss America and now, Miss Universe have crowned black women as their winners at the same time.
And that's a big deal if you know pageant history.
Beauty pageants early in their histories, some dating back to the 1920s, barred women of color from participating. Even after organizations began changing their rules to accept women of all races, there was still a lingering frustration and opposition to join.
Only in the last 50 years have black women become more prevalent in these competitions. Janelle Commissiong was the first black Miss Universe in 1977, Vanessa Williams was the first black Miss America in 1983, and Carole Anne-Marie Gist, the first black Miss USA contestant, was crowned in 1990. The following year Janel Bishop became the first black Miss Teen USA. When Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa was named Miss Universe on Sunday, she joined a historic group of black women, along with 2019 Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, 2019 Miss Teen USA Kaliegh Garris and 2019 Miss America Nia Franklin.
Here's what you should know about these four women:
Miss Universe fights against gender-based violence
Tunzi hails from the town of Tsolo in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Along with English, the 26-year-old speaks Xhosa and has launched a social media campaign against gender-based violence.
In a recent Instagram post, she called on her fellow South Africans to write love letters pledging support for women in her country.
"It is my hope that these pledges will start, and continue a conversation around gender-based violence," Tunzi wrote. "We have to start the narration where right-thinking people act as role models for those who think it's okay to mistreat women."

Seek out an optometrist.
Draw your own conclusions.
Are you sure you are thinking of the right person? That woman is far more homely than the average woman, regardless of color, that I see on a regular trip in to town.
but this was not a coincidence...this was manufactured..
every result is fixed beforehand in most things nowadays....even sports when they can get away with it...
One is unusually homely and appears to have some sort of illness and another appears to be a trans-testicle. I imagine the other two might be up to debate, I have no idea what their competition was like.
Sorry but these chicks were certainly not the most beautiful ones of that crowd
This is just political correctness
Sorry I don’t know how to post photos.

Ms Universe 2019 Ms South Africa.
. . . hot, black, and after every meal.
Eventually all the ethnic groups will have their QUEEN on the stage.
It was STUPID in 1921, when this farce started, and it is STILL stupid.
Where are all the feminists who would bash "this trite, useless exploitation" of young women?
.
.
I had a college roommate who had been in a beauty pageant. She was beautiful.
During the semester she got a C- on a paper in one of her psychology classes. So she went to the instructor to change his mind. She did so. She screwed him and he gave her an A.
MUCH later I looked her up on Google. She had become a psychologist herself.
.
One story about her.
She had a girlfriend whose boyfriend was a photographer. He wanted to photograph missbeauty and did so. They went up into the hills with camera and she got nude and posed for MANY photos.
Harhar. I still laugh at it.
The hills were RIDDLED with poison oak and she got poison oak over EVERY inch of her body...except her face. She spent TWO HOURS a day primping her face...that vain, useless slob. And NOW I recall what a SLOB she was.
I can't remember how long it took her to get over all the poison oak but I remember how HARD it was for me NOT to laugh.
That made my entire YEAR.

Virtually every character on the TV commercials is some sort of minority
If an alien came from outer space and watched tv in the U.S. they would think this country is at least 80% black, including the military, which they would think is 80% black female.
13% of the population, but seemingly 50% or more of the advertisements we see.
I feel like i'm being "programmed" like Orwell's 1984.
I expect that will sink like a stone. I think they could have pulled it off if they had just cast Idris Elba as Bond, but a black female is just a bridge too far.
Actually, any female playing that role is a bridge too far. Bond was based on Fleming's SAS experience, and there were no women commandos in the SAS.
I was with Miss Universe who was mixed. We traveled with her for 3 days. This was years ago.She died from cancer a few years ago,so young.Beautiful person.
Just another example of how liberalism/leftism ruins everything.
Diversity = No white people
The latest insanity from the universities:
The racism against whites that dominates the mass media is anything but casual.
Math is racist!
In America, TV programs you!
