Question for anyone listening please!!
If President Trump is impeached by the House but not removed by the Senate, can he run for office again?
I keep reading conflicting info on twitter.
Thanks in advance.
Oh, Jeez ... thanks for the link.
No high crimes and misdemeanors, no quid pro quo, no bribery. There’s no such thing as a obstruction of congress. #ImpeachDemocrats
keep canceling 63 million votes thru illegitimate impeachments and you’ll see how elections will be ignored and a breakdown in the constitution occurs...
This was NEVER about removing Trump... they know they can’t....
However Nadler let it slip what their talking point will be....
When Trump wins in a 40ish state landslide, they will just claim Russia helped him win, and he didn’t really win..
This whole thing was a joke from the get go.... and everyone except the most ardent TDS sufferer knows it.
Yes, yes he can.
I think they will roll one impeachment inquiry after another until they are voted out of power.
Thank you!!!
The Apple news service transposed “obstruction of Congress” (which many of us would see as a good thing) to “obstruction of justice”. So the news service probably recognized that “obstruction of Congress” won’t float in focus groups. :)
That is what I thought immediately. “Checks and balances” implies obstruction of one another from time to time.
If you want to see abuse of power, just watch the Rats in Congress.
Yes it is. Agree whole heartedly.
Sacajaweau posted a pdf describing Obstruction of Congress that was published by the Congressional Research Service.
Here is the actual statute, 18 USC Part I Chapt 73 Sec 1505:

Whoever corruptly, or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication influences, obstructs, or impedes or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede the due and proper administration of the law under which any pending proceeding is being had before any department or agency of the United States, or the due and proper exercise of the power of inquiry under which any inquiry or investigation is being had by either House, or any committee of either House or any joint committee of the Congress
