I am not sure of the time of the release..it is 9 am now....there was some talk last night on twitter that there will be a short press conference in the morning but the report won't be made public until the afternoon....but take that info with a grain of salt
hope it's out soon.
“based upon contacts at the behest of the United States”
At the very least, they were contacts that Page, at the time, was dutifully reporting to a US intelligence agency, which believed his reports to be truthful.
My point, as has been the point of many others, is that we have known since day 1 what this entire thing (the FISA business) was. This report is trying to tell us it is something else. It is trying to tell us "yeah - there are some bad people - but the guys at the top acted in good faith" when we know that is not the truth. That is the very definition of a whitewash. It whitewashes the swamp.
The report goes out of its way to protect the big creatures in the swamp and sacrifices the little crickets. That's not "knee-jerk reactions" - that is EXACTLY what has been predicted on this site by man for months.
Did Horowitz investigate the western asset theory [fact] at all?!?!?!
Was non-FBI outside his purview?!?!
This is the fact that blows up the entire scheme, and he missed it?!?!
Here's why that really isn't important...now stay with me: Trump and Barr have made very public statements about political bias at the top and that it was an illegal warrant, even that they infiltrated his campaign with a spy. They, especially Trump, have made a lot of claims - from big to small.
This report calls Trump a liar on all the BIG claims - well - it says there is no evidence of his claims. It says over and over again "we have found no evidence."
This is going to be the narrative of the MSM and the Dems - that Trump was wrong - and then every time he says it from now on - they will quote this report. THAT is why the other stuff doesn't matter.
You're not thinking like the enemy - and that's your problem. Horowitz gave them TALKING POINTS. Get it?
Lucy needs time to tee up the next football
Ah, it’s a felony if you withhold exculpatory information from the defendant in a criminal case. However, this is referring to withholding exculpatory information from the FISA application, which apparently, might just be an administrative booboo that requires some remedial training instead.
On or about August 17, 2016, in response to the Crossfire Hurricane team’s prior Carter Page name trace request, the Crossfire Hurricane team received a memorandum from another U.S. government agency detailing its prior interactions with Page, including that Page had been approved as an “operational contact” for the other agency from 2008 to 2013. 489 The memorandum also detailed the information that Page had provided to the other agency concerning his prior contacts with certain Russian intelligence officers. As detailed in Chapters Five and Eight, the Crossfire Hurricane team did not accurately describe to 01 the nature and extent of the information that the FBI received from the other agency, which we found was highly relevant to an evaluation of the FISA request. Additionally, in August 2016, Page made statements to an FBI CHS that, if true, were in tension with the reporting the FBI received subsequently from Steele, alleging that Page was being used as an intermediary by Manafort to conspire with Russia.

As far as white washing is concerned, I wouldn’t go that far. Disappointing - sure, but not that unexpected. On the issues you cited, I would describe them more as a punt rather than a white wash. The ball is now in Durham’s hands, and he’s in a much better position to determine intent than Horowitz ever was. The smoking gun evidence that might irrefutably reveal the fraudulent intent on the part of the decision makers is much more accessible to Durham than Horowitz.
“Has Drudge sold his site to some progressive elitist?”
He is a progressive elitists. All homosexuals are.
you may be right but I hope not.
Or how about this for a slogan:
“Let’s put the FOREIGN back in FOREIGN Intelligence Surveillance Act”
If the FBI wants to wiretap US citizens, they should damn well go to a real court judge and have to present real evidence.
This. We needed at least one scalp from Horowitz (I know, I know, he can only recommend indictment.) He has given them complete clearance to say “No wrongdoing, Obama admin still scandal-free, Trump is a paranoid lunatic, oh and by the way anything Durham or Barr do regarding this is fascistic troubling partisan witch hunting in complete disregard of the facts brought forth by the completely unbiased and non-partisan Horowitz.”
This is a HUGE L for Trump and for all of us. Not much we can do besides move on and prepare for 2020. Or take to the streets but I doubt the latter will happen, still too many fools “trusting the plan” (exactly as designed.)
The IG report went out of its way, time and time again, to give talking points to the dems and the MSM to say that did not occur and there is zero evidence of it. That's either a whitewash - or obstruction.
You either believe the president - or this report that it DIDN'T happen. It can't be both.
You CANNOT forget that Trump has been saying the complete opposite of what the report is saying regarding the main players in this. They basically just called Trump a liar - or said he doesn't know what he's talking about. That's not a punt.
But it also explains why those at the top like McCabe have been running their mouth so freely - they knew nothing was coming from this.

Yes. The #1 thing Trump has been saying SINCE DAY ONE is that Obama and everyone at the top was biased against me and that the whole FISA thing was a hit job. He says it almost every single time he opens his mouth.
And now - the IG report comes out - gives some bread crumbs to some hungry freepers and they say See!!!! - but they overlook the fact that the report calls PDJT's #1 claim a lie - at least 10 different times.
Basically it says "yeah there were some bad actors - but PDJT's claim that it was politically motivated from the TOP is false. His claim that it was IMPROPER is false. It was all proper and nobody was out to get him. Oh - and that claim the FBI had a spy in his campaign? not true."
THAT is what the talking points will be - and the IG report word-crafted it's report in such a way that it will fit perfectly in the nightly news.
YES!... sold approx 3 months ago to a company that is either an extension of Google, or is subsidized by Google.
I do not describe it as a punt to say over and over again there was no political bias and that the investigation was proper.
It says they didn’t find biased intent written down or admitted to, and it says the application cited a subject matter that is covered by the statute authorizing surveillance while being signed off by the appropriate people.
Which is of course not how it is being covered.
