Conservative news aggregator Matt Drudge appears to be telling the world that he no longer owns or operates his flagship website The Drudge Report.
In the bio of his official news feed on Twitter, Drudge describes The Drudge Report as a news aggregation website that he used to run, and suggests it was formerly based in the U.S.

“The DRUDGE REPORT was a U.S. based news aggregation website run by Matt Drudge (@DRUDGE),” the bio reads.
The mysterious change to his Twitter bio comes as several other conservatives try to compete with Drudge with their own news aggregation websites, such as BonginoReport.com, TheLibertyDaily.com, and Gab Trends.
In fact, Drudge actually promoted his competitors last month, noting that they’re “gaining ground” against his website, which is the top news website in the world.
“The Drudge Report is still the king of conservative aggregator websites, but its rivals are gaining ground,” Drudge tweeted.
However, the conservative news icon appeared to criticize former secret service agent Dan Bongino’s news website as boring on Saturday.
“Trust the plan/hope and change the Bongino Report is live. He used to be a secret service agent. [Snooze emoji] Enjoy the show,” he tweeted.
Alex Jones offered several theories regarding Drudge’s odd Twitter bio change.
“Taking Drudge’s tweet at face value, one of three things has happened: Drudge accidentally made two typos in his Twitter bio in the middle of this huge Drudge Report controversy, Matt Drudge has sold the Drudge Report and is cryptically signaling in his mysterious style, or he’s been kidnapped by drooling deep staters who have now stolen his identity,” Jones said.
“But regardless, the ever-reclusive Drudge needs to make a public appearance soon or the suspense will only continue to be hyped, which we know he hates.”

Forget Drudge, he’s gone and his site has gone full communist. I even removed my bookmarks.
I remember when the Drudge Report was a great site — I remember the exact date when he broke the Monica story — emailed the link to all my buds: “This is HUGE”. And of course it was, thanks to Drudge, after the MSM tried to bury it.
I think I like CITIZENFREEPRESS.COM better than I liked Drudge, though his site was known for juxtaposing two stories that riffed off each other in humorous or interesting ways. R.I.P. DrudgeReport...
BONGINOREPORT.COM is good too, I’ll visit every day, but CITIZENFREEPRESS.COM is more entertaining, with a mix of news and cultural potpourri.
One joke reporting on another.
Do we have absolute evidence of that? If so, I’d consider it criminal that google could buy up Drudge and that not be reported for 3 months.
I would but I don’t know how. I was just there, I noticed that Drudge’s same e-mail address is there for submitting news tips. If it was under new management, wouldn’t that e-mail address be different? Sure seems like it would. It’s the same garbage that has been running on there for the last couple of years. I didn’t click on the Madonna’s-daughter-orgy link.
Twitter blocked me from tweeting the InfoWars links - but I tweeted FR link to the InfoWars and got through
20 clicks a day for 20 years. Now its just like NFL, something I used to do.
Drudge took the money and ran.
We stopped reading it some months ago. Just too many far leftist propaganda titles getting mixed in. Annoying

“One joke reporting on another.”
Read by millions still more.
I dumped Drudge awhile back. he turned Never-Trumper right after the election when he had his feelings hurt because Trump wouldn’t say that it was Drudge that won the election for him.
But the main reason it left was the constant reloading. Switched to Liberty Daily But it reloads too and has ads that you can’t close. So I’m also going to Whatfinger News, Ratingly and News Ammo.
But Free Republic is still my main source.
I did a quick search and found nothing definitive. I was just going off my memory. There has definitely been a change of some sort. Maybe Drudge signed some sort of non-disclosure agreement as part of the sale. His Twitter bio stating he “was” the owner is curious.
It might be that someone came with a hundred-million dollars on the table, and another hundred-million in some Cyprus account...but you had to hand over the passwords, and just walk away...never admitting the sale or who bought it.
It would be curious to know who bought it.
Business model & viewershipSource article cited by Wikipedia:Revenue for the Drudge Report -- estimated in 2019 to be as high as $30 million dollars per year -- is driven by advertising that was managed for 20 years by Intermarkets, Inc. During the summer of 2019, after many years of being known for "changing nothing" about the website, Drudge advertising shifted to a "new and unknown" company by the name of Granite Cubed which is owned by Margaret and Adrian Otto. Mr. Otto is a technical director at Google Cloud. In 2017, the Ottos acquired Refdesk, a website whose founder is Bob Drudge, Matts father. The current ownership, strategy and outlook for the Drudge Report is held close as private information.[57]
Without attribution as to cause, viewership of the Drudge Report has been reported by Alexa Internet as dropping markedly since October 2019, from a ranking of #610 in global internet engagement to #772 and declining in November 2019.[58]
I noticed a change when Trump changed policy on trannies.
They dont know who you are on Free Republic alone, but your computer with a Gmail cookie logged in visiting Free Republic tells them you visit Free Republic.
They are triangulating to find out who we are and what we visit.
They want to feed us search results and ads that will change our views.
Yet Wikipedia, which is usually fairly accurate, says he still owns it. he does come clean about his politics and sexuality.
