Donald Trump now has an obvious path to a second term
cnn ^ | 12/06/2019 | Chris Cillizza

(CNN)The latest economic numbers -- 266,000 jobs created in November, unemployment at a 50-year low -- make one thing very clear: President Donald Trump has a path to win a second term next year.

Yes, you can quibble about whether the strong November report or the upward revisions in job gains for the last two months or the broader upswing in the economy is due to Trump and his policies. But what we know -- both from our political history and more recent polling -- is that presidents get credit when the economy is strong and blame when it is weak.

33% among blacks, 25% among Democrat voters. The Fat Lady is going to sing.

I hope loud and proud!

Trump should get another 2 years after that, just to make up for the time deliberately lost with the CIA-created fake Mueller Report.

I'll settle for his appointing 4 or 5 Supreme Court judges.

This is true. I well remember a president who had a 90% approval rating. 11 months later he lost the election. That President was George Bush.

Having said that, Trump is no Bush. He may very well be impeached by the rats in the House No matter. He will still win re-election.

Agree. Neutralizing the Weasel Roberts has to be a priority.

My fear, they will be forced to do violence—take out Trump with a bullet or bomb. Hey, they got JFK didn’t they? Trump better be well guarded. They almost got Reagan (he was never the same after that). They took out RFK as well. Be ready if they move on him with a real coup and not a paper coup. Lots of Obama Generals would join Nancy to seize the White House and arrest Trump and Pence for “treason” and have Justice Roberts declare her President 46. The close Fox.news and OOAN and NY Post. Hannity, Tucker, etc... would be arrested as agents of Russia.

Don’t forget Perot’s contribution to that election. He purposefully ran a conservative/libertarian campaign to pull voters from Bush. This allowed Bill Clinton to win with 43% of the vote.

The Democrat Clown Show could end up with a mess of a convention. Their new rules are that no delegates are committed to their candidate after the first ballot. It could be a stalemate, with even more cheating and manipulating than usual, and total chaos. Everyone will end up angry, even the choice if they are saddled with a VP they despise.

The selling argument to undecideds would end up being "Would you rather have four more years of Trump or risk 8 years of ------". My main concern is that the 'pubs will govern totally ignoring their voters.

We can help. Nothing wrong with, in states where it's proportional and voting in either party is an easy choice, voting in the Dem primary and choosing a candidate that is problematic for the Democrat establishment. <^..^>

It’s hilarious to me how Trump’s policies are disastrous and a threat to humanity etc but as soon as something positive comes out it’s unclear whether or not his policies have any role to play. These people are just awful.

Exactly why the Democrats are moving to impeach him. He’ll probably name at least two more Justices in a second term and complete the transformation of the federal judiciary.

What was it Obama used to say? Elections have consequences. Deal with it!

This is Obama's economic success. It was delayed by racism.

The economic expansion began while Obama was still president

I'll give Obama credit for some fracking, much better than what Bernie or Warren would allow, according to what they are claiming. I suspect that if Warren were POTUS she would be forced to backpedal on some of her disastrous committments though.

Cramer: Like or hate Trump, ‘these are the best numbers of our lives’ on jobs

CNBC ^ | 12/06/2019 | Matthew J. Belvedere
Posted on 12/6/2019, 5:42:14 PM by Kid Shelleen

CNBC’s Jim Cramer said Friday no matter your view on President Donald Trump there’s no denying we’re living in the best labor market in more than a generation.

“You can’t contradict that these are the best numbers of our lives. You can’t,” Cramer, 64, said following the government report showing the U.S. economy created a better-than-expected 266,000 nonfarm jobs in November, with the unemployment rate dipping to 3.5%, matching a 50-year low. Economists had expected the jobless rate to hold steady at 3.6% last month.

“People don’t want to say good things” about the economy, said Cramer, echoing comments he made Thursday evening on “Mad Money,” telling investors: “Don’t let the armageddonists and the negativists and the hucksters scare you away from owning stocks.”

Referring to Trump, Cramer said Friday on “Squawk Box,” shortly after the jobs report was released, “It doesn’t matter whether you hate him or like him, these are real numbers.”

“This is the best number I’ve ever seen in my life,” Cramer said, zeroing in on the unemployment rate. “Fifty years ago, that number was a curse. Now it’s a blessing.” He added, “I don’t see inflation. I don’t see recession.”

Thanks for posting this basic reality check!:

We might lose CA House seats by illegals voting, we won’t lose any CA Electoral votes—unless CA regains/acquires sanity.

...presidents get credit when the economy is strong and blame when it is weak.

I do not recall CNN blaming Obummer for the weak economy during his presidency.

And as to the claim that it's not a good economy because not every single American is enjoying it: The Left did the same to Reagan, claiming it was all McJobs and such.

It's nothing more than a tactic to minimize the praise a Repub Prez gets (and deserves) for good economic policy.

Spin, spin, spin...
