SALT LAKE CITY — Drug traffickers often use the post office and private shipping companies to send opioids, including fentanyl, to people across the country.

Now, Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, and Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., have introduced a bill to curtail the circulation of illicit drugs through the mail.

The bipartisan legislation introduced Thursday would require the U.S. Postal Service to develop a comprehensive plan to combat the use of the mail in illicit drug distribution, identify areas for improvement, enhance coordination across departments and proactively meet new challenges

“identify areas for improvement, enhance coordination across departments and proactively meet new challenges”

Meaningless BS. More $$$ needed for this crap.

Last time I checked, there were posters at my local post office advising this was already against the law. That’s why we have postal inspectors and why drug dealers use alternative methods of delivery.

“”Does your package contain anything liquid, perishable, fragile, fentanyl, opioids or anything potentially hazardous?”

“No, Maam.”

“That’ll be $13.25”

One on the roof of every mail truck.

Yep, 453 drugs and narcotics illegal to ship via US postal services. A lot of these rules have been on the books since the 1970s.

GOP Senate is doing anything they can to pretend they are working while the Deep State coup arsonists rage around them. Rand is on student loans, Cruz an oil pipeline and now Pierre has this nothing burger. Brilliant.

The USPS who is going bankrupt needs to pay for more things they can’t pay for. Brilliant. Is Willard proposing paying for it?

“introduced a bill to CURTAIL the circulation of illicit drugs through the mail.”

Notice how Pierre uses a word(CURTAIL) that allows him to sound like he is doing something(SPENDING more money) with no way of measuring its success.

He could have said END instead of CURTAIL. If it doesn’t “END”(A measurable thing)Senator Delecto would be held ACCOUNTABLE. That can’t happen.

What a phony!

If drug abusers want to risk death or disability, it’s on them. More regulation is no answer.
