Prince Andrew’s father Prince Philip told the royal to ‘take his punishment’ following Epstein scandal: report

Prince Andrew is still facing the wrath of the British royal family.

The 59-year-old was given a “tense” telling off by his father Prince Philip, who told the royal to “take his punishment” because he had endangered “the very fabric of the royal family,” a palace insider told The Telegraph on Thursday.

According to the outlet, Andrew was ordered to drive 140 miles to Queen Elizabeth’s country retreat Sandringham for a “showdown” with the Duke of Edinburgh.

“It was a tense meeting and Philip told his son he had to take his punishment,” claimed the source. “There was no screaming or shouting but Philip told him in no uncertain terms that he had to step down for the sake of the monarchy. Philip doesn’t like trial by the media but he is realistic enough to realize that Andrew’s actions were a danger to the very fabric of the royal family.”

“What exactly does “stepping down” mean? Is he going to have to apply for a job as a plumber or something? Maybe have all his bank accounts full of taxpayer money confiscated?”

Oddly the Queen could render him penniless by cutting of all royal funding to him. It is in her power. I hope she does this. His older brother Charles is little better but most fortunately a little bit more discreet.

It will not happen, but would be my wish for William to be the next King of England.

Philip actually knows something about the “simple life”. He was in combat as a naval officer during WWII & was destined to rise rapidly through the ranks. He reluctantly left all that behind, to marry Elizabeth (who was not yet Queen). He’s very much an old-school disciplinarian, who was notoriously tough on his male offspring. Of course, his generation of royals and high aristocrats kept mistresses as a matter of routine — marriages usually being about politics and power, rather than romantic love (although, that didn’t apply in his case). He’s probably more upset that Randy Andy was consorting with a lower-class tart than he was about the illicit sex.

It is good and worth the watch, if for anything, for the educaiton in provides.

What does STEP DOWN mean? Give up his titles?

That would mean giving up the income that comes with them IIRC

Prince Philip told him to "take his punishment."

So he'll have 20 years in Rikers? I doubt it.

We used to have a British secretary that said the Brits referred to Andrew as Randy Andy.

Wikipedia Says he was a pilot during the falklands war. So he does have some life and career skills.

That was an excellent mini-series! No sugar coating on the Kennedys in that one.

“Wikipedia Says he was a pilot during the falklands war.”

IIRC, he was a helicopter pilot in the military. And then Fergie became a helicopter pilot.

During the Falklands War Andrew placed his Westland Wasp helicopter directly in the path of incoming Exocet missiles in order to break the radar lock on the targeted ship.

Actually, Bruce got chopped up by Mary Astor.

As for Prince Philip, I believe “take your punishment” means disappear from public life - hopefully permanently. The world’s golf courses are calling Andrew’s name.

Really? Admirable. Was he decorated for that?

“punishment”

Will that include testifying in court cases?

He was a Helo pilot in the Falklands. They acted as decoys for the Argentine cruise missiles. That was real combat. Give him credit for that.
