House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) investigated Ranking Member Devin Nunes (D-CA) as part of his impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, the committee report revealed on Tuesday.
The revelation that Schiff had obtained telephone records related to Nunes was the only new revelation in the report, which otherwise re-hashed Democrats’ arguments in favor of impeaching Trump for allegedly asking Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election.
In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Schiff declined to say when the committee had obtained the records, but given the Democrats’ repeated questions during the inquiry about administration officials who had worked with Nunes, such as former Intelligence Committee staffer (now National Security Council official) Kash Patel, it is likely the Democrats sought those records before or during the hearings.
The report cites media reports that Lev Parnas, an associate of Rudy Giuliani who has ben indicted on campaign finance charges, claimed that Nunes tried to meet with Ukrainians to “dig up dirt” on former Vice President Joe Biden. (Nunes had threatened to sue those media outlets, and did so on Tuesday, suing CNN for defamation; he does not appear to have been given an opportunity to answer the allegations in the report.)

One has to wonder, just HOW did Schiff obtain these private records?
No arm of the DOJ would issue subpoena for them.
But, perhaps Pelosi as Speaker could directly order the House IT dept to provide them.

Schiff is not mentally ill, nor is he mentally unstable, nor is he a lunatic or a psychopath.
He is doing what he knows he can get away with, because he’s been told ahead of time that the laws prohibiting such activity without a warrant will not be enforced against him or any of his fellow travelers, regardless of party.
The entrenched bureaucratic government is at war with POTUS Trump, and, by extension, every one who voted for him or plans to vote for him in 2020.
They will do whatever it takes to bring him, and us, down. The laws, at this point, don’t matter any more.
Schiff will not go unpunished.
Schiff is seriously mentally unstable. He has a serious mental issue of some sort. He is functional, but he is trying to hide a significant mental disorder. I wish I knew what he suffered from because he is certainly not all there mentally.
I don’t see it that way. He’s taking every inch of the political battlefield the GOP cedes to him. As long as he gets a green light from the GOP controlled Senate to continue this nonsense he will.

Schiff and the Intelligence Committee subpoenaed the records from “third parties” from AT&T (which owns CNN), who gave them the phone records without a fight.
Any Freeper that has AT&T as their provider should cancel and tell them to get f*ck*d.

Agree 100% with everything. This is a political battle and only one army is fighting. Sometimes it looks ugly because of that.
Finally we know what the crime has been for the last three years: asking Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 elections.

Schiff’s out of control actions to date and the inability to rein him in should scare the hell out everybody.

I’ve always said Dems know how to get info and the deep state helps them get it.
If Nunes dared to get Schiffs phone call logs the deep state would alert him and bury the info.

Schiff is screwed. This isn’t a criminal trial; he has no criminal subpoena power. He also released the records of private, public, and journalist phone calls into the public.
Also in the report: Two former co-workers of “the whistleblower” are now on Schiff’s staff.
