The Cartels are armed very well these days I think, as well as being technologically savvy.

I have been saying this for years.

Things will get so bad in this country the people will put in power one day a cross between Hitler, the Taliban and ISIS mixed into one

It will start out hands chopped off in stadiums for stealing etc. and the people will cheer until you get caned for jaywalking

The problem is the innocent people will lose all their rights as well and we will live under a draconian gov’t.

So?

Take over Mexico one failed Mexican state after another ... there are already vigilantes routing the cartels from some areas, FIND SOME WAY TO AID THE VIGILANTES. Lather, rinse, repeat, one Mexican state/province after another.

"Moreover, they are technically sophisticated, with all the tech money can buy. And they have combat power sufficient to defeat government forces."

Yeah, the Mexican government forces and "hugs" from its government.

"We have no stomach for the kind of fight this would be. A few slaughters of ordinary Americans by cartel gunmen in Houston or Tucson and any semblance of unity behind taking out the cartels vanishes."

You stay supine for the enemy, sphincter boy Kurt. There are still men in the U.S.A. but not in offices like yours.

What Would a War on the Drug Cartels Look Like?

I used to argue with a bunch of pot heads and libertarian drug legalization advocates. I kept pointing out that we never really had a "War on Drugs."

If we had been having an actual "War on Drugs", we would have a lot of dead cartel members, and so too a lot of dead leadership in countries that were importing drugs into our nation.

*THAT* is what a real "War on Drugs" would look like.

What we have, and what we've always had is a "holding action." Nobody wants to do what is necessary to actually win a war on drugs.

I would start by snipering their lookouts, posted on peaks in AZ and NM. Make them aware that there’s a price to pay. It’s our country, not theirs.

What they do in Mexico is not of as much concern to me. But keep them out and don’t let them run rampant over here.

They murder thousands of Americans a year here with their poison

No, those Americans do that to themselves. The article's claim is like saying gun makers murder Americans.

I suspect a HUGE! firefight!

And gasfilled and ignited border tunnels. (We can detect small earth tremors from 8000 miles away; we have SURELY detected digging sounds from up close!)

How about a CIA Psyops ad placed widely throughout Mexico, awarding finders $10,000 for cartel-bosses' DNA?

Hairbrush, comb, vacuum sweepings?

So, what do we do? Order some Delta Force hits in Sinaloa?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Why not? nothing else has worked.

The cartels are terrorists . They have enslaved millions of Americans to drugs and created unacceptable suffering in America.

Whenever the cartels move to cross a border that has been fortified according to Trump’s plan, we interdict them militarily, no arrests, no criminal trials. We just destroy them, we destroy their ability to move money and goods in our country.

And if the engagement starts on our soil we must be prepared to pursue them and wipe them out in Mexico if necessary within 200 miles South of our Southern border as a declared zone of interdiction. We should share intel with the Mexican military and work with them to mop them up.

A-10 Warthogs? By all means.Use all of our special operations capability as well to engage them on the ground with air support. No need of conventional military in Mexico. Perhaps this is the proposal that AG Barr will present to the government of Mexico soon.

As to the Dems? They need to end their addiction to cartel money , likely laundered and paid to Dem community organizers close to La Raza.

The first step is to rid Washington of those who are already in the cartels pockets. I think part of Trump’s draining the swamp is doing this. The retirements by many congressmen when they don’t have to...the left’s opposition to anything close to resembling opposing pot, etc etc
