Utah is on its way to becoming the 19th state to ban the discredited practice of conversion therapy in January after state officials formed a proposal that has the support of the influential Church of a Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Republican Gov. Gary Herbert announced Tuesday night that church leaders back a regulatory rule his office helped craft after legislative efforts for a ban on the therapy failed earlier this year.
The faith known widely as the Mormon church opposed a previous version of the rule because it wanted assurances that church leaders and members who are therapists would be allowed to provide spiritual counseling for parishioners or families which were included in the latest conversion therapy ban plan.

“Shaving - Sensuous or not?”
Maybe that’s why in all the movies the Morman elders have big beards?
My wife doesn’t care for my 3-day stubble.
Wait - are we talking about the same thing?
(Boy - things were sure more simple 100 years ago!)
Sorry; but the text found in D&C 132 is a bit more frightening than this:
64 And again, verily, verily, I say unto you, if any man have a wife, who holds the keys of this power, and he teaches unto her the law of my priesthood, as pertaining to these things, then shall she believe and administer unto him, or she shall be destroyed, saith the Lord your God; for I will destroy her; for I will magnify my name upon all those who receive and abide in my law.(Oh; never mind. Do whatever the rulers of this land tell you to do.)
Well; them guys in reply #37 have NO beards!
“...if something is TABOO; that is a SURE way to get MORE of it! “
High standards. And yes, the church has the responsibility to teach proper home life.
Yup!
When headquarters laid down the law; you best follow it!
Now the Internet has SO much data on it that ALL can see for themselves whether the stuff I post is true or not.

We think this is an entirely distinct phenomenon from childhood-onset gender dysphoria, says Michael Bailey, PhD a leading researcher on sexuality and gender, and a psychology professor at Northwestern University. Indeed, we think it didnt exist until recently. It is a socially contagious phenomenon, reminiscent of the multiple personality disorder epidemic of the 1990s.

And social contagion theory does correlate to mental illness in other cases - including bulimia.

Then there’s the deliberate targeting and social contagion spread of autistic girls who decide as individuals and groups that they’re really trans-men.

There are stories of groups of these autistic girls at the same school all deciding they are men and changing together.
It is rather sexist to equate the systemic thinking and general disinterest in people and social drama as “male”. But it looks like a cure to the girls, and it makes them the hero of the moment. Here comes the social validation you crave.
It denies the fact that most of these girls are heterosexual and will mature in their 20s versus their teens. Nor does it do anything to deal with the difficulty reading people that leaves autistic girls at much greater risk of rape and sexual exploitation. To me, this “we need more gender equity in transgenderism, convert autistic girls” IS sexual exploitation .
No one is seriously studying the social contagion theory of ROGD among autistic girls. But they DO admit that transgenders - especially the youngest/newest - are far more likely to be transgender.

Confusion over why autism is so prevalent among transgender people may be limiting their access to medical care.

There's a school of thought that the elders of the Mormon church are inclined to find convenient ways to support stuff like this... gay marriage... "Lowering the legally recognized age of consent..."
...other stuff too that might not be known until it happens...
Then, someday, maybe not that far in the future, the issue of the day will be... wait for it... Polygamy. Without having to go to another (nearby) country for it. Variety, you know.
No editorializing here...
“No editorializing here...”
Too many Californians came for the cheep prices and messed up the state to remake California. It is an on going fight.
They love to complain about the church running the state when in fact they are just trying to shut up church members while they go about change the state.

I will not convince you that you ar wrong, even though you are. Take that from an Elder.
Gods union between a man and a woman, in marrage, is sacred, along with the physical union in marrage.
I find it disgusting how you have reduced it to a rude, crude, and lude joke.
Don’t Mormon men believe they can have multiple wives and sex in heaven? Sound pretty carnal to me. For the women, not so much.
See last post please
“Dont Mormon men believe they can have multiple wives and sex in heaven? Sound pretty carnal to me. For the women, not so much.”
We believe we are part of Heavenly Father’s family and we will be husband and wife. Like anti-marrage groups here on earth, someone used a crude way to speak of the love between husbands and wives.
George Q. Cannon::
Our crime has been: We married women instead of seducing them; we reared children instead of destroying them; we desired to exclude from the land prostitution, bastardy and infanticide.
OK, setting aside the sex thing in heaven (which my two step sons are REALLY REALLY looking forward to BTW), let me rephrase the question:
Dont Mormon men believe they can have multiple wives in heaven?
Also, since you brought it up, are you using Cannon’s quote to justify multiple wives on earth? I take care of several people, male and female, without having to marry them.
And BTW I have no impressions I am going to change your mind. This is for others reading the thread; the truth, yours or mine, will prevail.
Yes plural marriage was never rescinded, just stopped.
“Also, since you brought it up, are you using Cannons quote to justify multiple wives on earth? I take care of several people, male and female, without having to marry them.”
Cannon’s remarks show the difference in attude betwee using a woman for satisfying sexual pleasures and taking care of a loved woman and her offsprings.
To many men just inject baby juice into any baby factory that will let him and not care about the results. The term bastardy is not much used today, but there is a lot of fatherless children today.
And the term infanticide has been given a nicer name, it is now abortion.
