If the FISA thing breaks as predicted with the Horowitz Report, Roberts automatically becomes a fact witness, since he heads up the FISA court. He cannot Be both a witness and a judge in the proceedings. Yet the Chief Justice must preside according to the Constitution. He will be forced to give up being CHief Justice and a new one must be named. This could get, Constitutionally, very interesting.

Seriously: Roberts has a huge conflict. He oversaw the FISA judges. He needs to recuse and have someone else assess where the FISA courts were dirty.
With all due respect, I suspect that this is a tempest in a teapot. I am not sure who sets the trial rules - McConnell or Roberts - but I think McConnell sets procedural rules via floor vote at the beginning. Of course the 'rats will try to set up rules and blocks - I think that is up to McConnell to handle from the outset; I believe that he is up to the task.

Chief Justice John Roberts is tainted due to his ruling on Obozo Care and can’t be trusted to rule on issues that do not meet Constitutional muster. If it were possible, he needs to be impeached from serving on the SCOTUS. An assignment for the duration of a judge’s life is a very bad idea and should be changed.
If I remember correctly from the Clinton Impeachment, the Chief Justice doesn’t actually do much, he is essentially a figurehead to gavel the proceedings into order every day. I don’t remember him making any substantive rulings at all, he essentially just turned everything over to the Senate leadership to set and enforce the ground rules.
If Roberts thinks the deep state blackmailing him is scary, let’s see how he feels against an enraged American populace pushed beyond the bounds of reason or mercy!
