Do any of these media “geniuses” have any idea of how many troops would be required to effectively enforce a coup d’etat in the United States in the face of massive noncooperation by every level of federal, state, and local government and the general citizenry?

It is also a massive insult to the armed forces to suggest they would even follow such orders in violation of their individual oaths to support and defend the constitution and obey the LAWFUL orders of the President.

“I remember praying for a military coup during the Watergate bullsh*t. Nowadays, the military seems to be a part of the Deep State”.

You probably remember Brezhnev suggesting that to Nixon. He said Nixon could surround the White House with tanks with their guns aiming outward.

Exactly. Military support for Trump is VERY high despite the efforts of Military Times and the lame MSM. Orders by JCS or other generals to take him by force, imprison him, or whatever would not be obeyed. Any military guy would say, “Yes sir!”, walk away saying to himself “This isn’t what I signed up for and I don’t want to be in a military that is about this”, and take a walk. Oh, it would hurt their military career? At that point, your military career is done and you’re living in Venezuela. They’d go home and start thinking about what they’re going to do to get their country back.

Kinda creepy.
The marines are presently guarding President Trump. Recall he said on Christmas that he was alone in the WH, and that he waved to a soldier with a machie gun on the front lawn.

At the president’s inauguration, the military lined up behind President Trump as he spoke of the peaceful transition of power. The mil behind him glared unsmiling and flinty-eyed out at the public, perhaps in the direction of Obama et. al. in the audience. The message was clear - attack President Trump and you have to take on his military, too.

The video of those military soldiers coming to stand behind President Trump as he says his presidency is not about the transfer of power from one administration to another- its about transferring power back to the people, is harder and harder to find as that particular video clip is being purged from the Internet by the media companies. The link I’ll put here isn’t the best as it is from overhead, whereas it was much better, the faces of the military much clearer (resolute/defiant) when the video is shown from the front.

https://youtu.be/4GNWldTc8VU?t=1810

SO this little story about Nixon comes along as the DS is losing it’s grip on ...everything. It’s as if they are prepping the public to misinterpret any potential action by the military to protect President Trump as “evil” Nixon taking over the country. Creepy.

At the 1:30 second mark, this video shows the military falling in beside President Trump.

https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4650187/president-trump-delivers-inaugural-address

There was a better version of the military display of force originally filmed in the Rose Garden when POTUS first took office. The military decends risers to stand alongside the president, again unsmiling and conveying, “FIght him and you fight US!” and then wordlessly returning to the risers. That video has been so well scrubbed I can’t find it.

Apparently as the impeachment circus draws to a close, the DS wants to prep the public to misinterpret any display of force by the military deemed necessary to repel more significant attempts to remove President Trump from office.

I recall rumors that both Kissinger and Schlesinger were involved in telling the military not to obey orders from Nixon. The story was that the Marines supported Nixon, especially the commandant. However, they were supposedly counterbalanced by the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, which were anti-Nixon. The current story is that the Marine Corps solidly supports Trump. But note that the Army is apparently protecting Lt. Col. Vindman. The Navy brass is still trying to punish the pardoned Navy SEAL.

As far back as the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations, there have been periodic purges of conservatives in senior military positions. For example, the dismissal of Generals Edwin Walker and Curtis Lemay. Obama was notorious for his mass dismissal of hostile senior officers. Unfortunately, Trump has not done a counter purge of left leaning military officers, something wholly in his purview. Hopefully, he will not regret this.

If I were Trump, I’d worry about the military. After the Secy of the Navy and Admiral Somebody sort of apologized for refusing to follow Trump’s orders regarding the Seal, I just saw a headline that said “Trump backs down and will not interfere process against Seal.” He’s very foolish to do this, in my opinion. They’re just testing him, because the Congressional coup isn’t working. He needs to assert himself, imho. It could certainly be that there are things involved with this that I don’t know about, but giving the press the chance to write “Trump backs down” [from what was his legitimate right] is not good.

At least we know it wouldn’t happen now. Not with the leftist Nancy boys who fill the General and Admiral ranks.
We haven’t had a real man there since Desert Storm with Schwartzkopf and Horner.

I think there are many former military, me included, who would assist the president in the lawful use of his office.

I just saw that the Secy of Def requested the resignation of the Secy of the Navy! Go Trump!

That I don’t remember but if it had happened, it would have made for great TV just as the shooting of Woodward and Bernstein in front of the WaPo building would have been dramatic. And Mark Felt’s suicide by hanging in his FBI office... and the hits just keep on coming in the good old imagination. Who oh why did Nixon have to be such a good guy?

Sounds like they’re trying to smear what Trump obviously will have to do to drain the swamp. It’s gonna take the Marines and the arrests of the entire congress judiciary, and alphabet peeps. Give em trials and hemp neckties, hold elections.

It would give this old right wing female great joy, if the democrats were to stage some sort of uprising because they would not accept the results of the 2020 elections, that President Trump were to declare martial law and military tribunals were appointed to go after the leftists and other assorted traitors that have defiled the nation

An event like that would probably be necessary to provide some more decades of stability for our republic but I’m realistic enough to accept that I probably won’t live long enough to see it. But then Trump’s election win was the most extraordinary political event I can remember. Conditions were ripe for Nixon to do it during his first term but he was too nice a guy to do what needed to be done. There needed to be lots of blood on the domestic streets and none of it ours.
