He should have been worm food 58 years ago.
Illinois doesn’t understand the concept of LIFE. I was living in that area when the crime occurred. He was totally unrepentant of any of it.
If it makes you feel any better......After being in jail since the 60’s , he’ll probably suffer more on the outside then he would had he remained incarcerated.
What’s the point now??
He’s probably gonna commit a crime after a few weeks when he realizes he can’t survive outside of prison.
The whole system is a mess.
I hope so. I’m sure that it won’t make the families feel any better though...
One reason states parole elderly prisoners is so it won’t be burdened with their increasing medical costs. If it’s considered they aren’t a further danger to anyone, they can be booted to save money.
The once great state of ILL is gone... it’s disgusting
He’s 80 and been in prison over 50 years. No doubt his brain is jello. I doubt he’ll be enjoying life anywhere he might be.
He will kill again. No need for a functioning brain to do that. His animal instincts will kick in.
He still will have to attend a higher court with a harsher judgement and definitely no parole.
“After being in jail since the 60s , hell probably suffer more on the outside then he would had he remained incarcerated.”
How so? Arthritis?
Sorry bro.....don’t answer ignorant questions.
Prisoners become institutionalized to prison and cannot function in society. As odd as it seems he will have more worries and anxiety now than before. No Ss checks maybe ssi, which is poverty.
Depends on the 80 year old. A few are hearty and healthy. I wonder which type HE is? Also, someone who commits crimes like that, is either a sociopath or a psychopath. They cannot be fixed, unless the LORD himself, does a complete, miraculous “heart transplant”, with a total renewing of their mind. This fad of letting heinous criminals out of jail early, is dangerous and unjust.
I can always tell when it isn’t a parole board members wife, mother or daughter butcherd by the psycho.
I just read up a bit on the case. Apparently, some woman tried to confess, about 10 years ago, that at the time of the killings, she was with some friends at the park the day the women were killed, and “something really bad happened”, but she was dying, and her daughters shut her up and made the retired cop who was interviewing her, leave.
Then, when DNA testing became possible, the convict’s attorney wanted crime scene evidence tested, such as hair the dead women were clutching in their hands when they died, and the State refused. Now, anytime THAT happens, you’ve got to figure they didn’t have a solid case. And States will go out of their way, to avoid admitting they convicted the wrong man. The first thing I would do, were I he, would be to sue to get that evidence tested. If a person’s guilty, they need to be punished, but if they’ve been railroaded, what a horrible thing!
He’s 79, that’s exactly what they are doing. He will be on medicare in a nursing home on the fed’s dime instead of the state’s.

Illinois - 1 May 2018
An Illinois man convicted of killing five people in what is known as the 'pine village massacre' made his new residence near an elementary school - prompting the district to send a warning letter to parents and the community.
Carl Reimann, 77, was released from prison on Thursday after serving more than 45 years for the 1972 deaths of David Gardner, 35; Bob Loftus, 48; John Wilson, 48; Catherine Rekate, 16; and George Pashade, 75.
Reimann was convicted of murder after police said he walked into an Illinois restaurant in 1972 and fatally shot two customers and three employees after emptying the cash register.
