I predict that there will be more scrutiny, not less, of the decision made by the Chick-fil-A Foundation. I am sure the company will revise its response. More nuance will surely be forthcoming because of the nationwide backlash. Nuance, however, is what causes you to lose in politics, get defeated in war and get burned at the stake in religion.

We rarely eat out. My wife loves to cook, so we eat at home 95% of the time.
Individuals should give to charity, not corporations.
To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.

The progressives already won the whole ballgame vis-a-vis CFA. Me not going there anymore doesn't increase that a bit.
Chick-filA is a business. To sell more sandwiches they have expanded their customer base.
Success is achieved by being apolitical, not by catering to one group over another.
You couldn’t be more wrong. CFA’s explosive growth is precisely due to them taking a stand against fascist bullies when so many companies surrender. That differentiated themselves in the crowded fast food business and Christians flocked to their business. Their product is average. Nice bathrooms, though. I’m sure that also helped.
so....basically you are saying that CFA has been gaming Christians for many years to earn their business, and now that it’s taken them as far as it can they are dumping them and moving on to the next target group.
Cynical. But plausible.
Don’t kid yourself. Corporations are ALWAYS going to give to charities.
Though if we stand down it will be a fistful of awful social justice organizations instead of the Salvation Army.
The Left is NOT going to let them stop giving entirely. That’s naïve.
I couldn’t verify the statement below, but FWIW:
“the new donations strategy also meant several dozen other groups with no anti-LGBT record would not receive funding in 2020 either, and so the strategy does not appear to have been targeted specifically at the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.” - https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/chick-fil-a-anti-lgbt-donations/
Perhaps you should read about what they are donating to instead. Frontpage Mag has a good piece about it - hint it is a bunch of progressive charities that fund groups screaming for impeachment, more immigration, etc.
Hopefully, it matters to you not because of what has been taken away, but what will now be funded - More money to the democrats.
Exactly. I noticed the same after looking at the CFA fakebook page for about a minute. They are abandoning mainline Christian charities and going all in on Democrat connected “urban” charities. It’s protection money, obviously.
We held then high for doing right.
When they fall, we stone them.
So old testment.
Except they now have NOT expanded their base of business. Do you really believe the Lib protesters will now flock to CFA? Of course they won’t.
Do you believe that some measure of supporting conservatives will STOP going to CFA? Yes.
Bottom line, they will not grow their base of customers, they will watch it shrink unless this is addressed quickly and in blunt terms.
Post 26-
Read closely.
CFA has chosen the demolish their brand.
So what would have happened if CFA never got involved in anything political outside of their core business? Would it have made that much of a difference?
I wonder how much business CF has lost because of this stupid decision. Probably not as much as people would think. Ideology takes a back seat to hunger. I go to CF about 2 or 3 times a year. If I dont go again I doubt they would not notice. If a million people did the same they would notice but it would not hurt them very much. I drove by one yesterday and the cars were lined up for the drive-thru as they always are.
And marketing is all about capturing the young demographic. They quit caring what you think when you turn 50.
Yep. But, our youngsters money is tight, theres a crapload of us over 50 that like to eat out and us over-50s tend more to still be biblical Christians.
Franklin Graham wrote about the decision yesterday and absolved Chick-Fil-A. For many that was all they needed to return to Chick-Fil-A. Graham hadn’t done his homework on the topic but people were just looking for an excuse to return. It was pretty remarkable to watch people just fall back in line, albeit not surprising.
You obviously don’t know Chick Fil-A very well.
They have an overwhelming customer base at almost every store, every hour, of every day. They don’t need to expand their customer base.
There loyal customer base is due to the fact that they are a good Christian Value company and support Christian charities not leftist ones.
I disagree.
Make more chicken...
