Christians, Don't Be Afraid to Hold Chick-fil-A Accountable
Charisma ^ | November 22, 2019 | Bill Hull

I predict that there will be more scrutiny, not less, of the decision made by the Chick-fil-A Foundation. I am sure the company will revise its response. More nuance will surely be forthcoming because of the nationwide backlash. Nuance, however, is what causes you to lose in politics, get defeated in war and get burned at the stake in religion.

They’ve lost me as a customer.

The only thing as bad a progressive is those who bend over and assume the Obama position for them.

For the life of me I can’t understand why Chick-fil-A gives one inch to the leftist, anti-Christian blackmailers. It’s TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.

Chick-filA is a business. To sell more sandwiches they have expanded their customer base.
Success is achieved by being apolitical, not by catering to one group over another.

I emailed Chick-fil-A to tell them how disappointed I was, and that for the left, one can never kow-tow enough.
Also, that Chick-fil-A was my family's go-to eat out place, but no longer. Nothing separates them from any other eatery with a gimmick.

I’ve worked in publishing for 15 years. The author of this article, Bill Hull, has a book releasing in January 2020 titled The Cost of Cheap Grace. It’s one of the best I’ve read in my 15 years in my job. Much as he does in this article, it discusses the softening of the Gospel and a move from cheap grace to costly discipleship. It’s convicting and challenging.

Sadly I went by there last night and the drive-thru line was still circling the building.

Because the Christian faith of the founder of the chain is not found in his heir.

I have let them know in no uncertain terms they have lost me and my entire family unless and until they totally abrogate their position to no longer donate to Christian Organizations.

I reminded them of the support we the consuming public gave them some time ago when the Left called for a total boycott of Chick Fil A and because of OUR support they had the very best day in their corporate history.

True success goes way beyond the financials. Sometimes it’s just necessary to do the right thing.

They are no worse than the scores of national chains who either never contributed to great causes or worse, contribute to wicked ones. Of course, they remain closed on Sundays. I don’t want to totally abandon the company for having been good, otherwise new companies will be unwilling to ever contribute to good causes for fear of long term risk if (for whatever reason) they have to change course.

That said, the shine is off the halo, and I prefer bone in chicken.

I rarely ate at Chick-Filet before. Kind of expensive. After the boycott, I would go out of my way to eat there whenever I wanted fast food. Not anymore.

I'll simply say this:

I haven't been the most frequent Chik-fil-A customer, I go there maybe twice a year. I'm just not a big fast-food eater. When I do go, it's because (a) I enjoy their chicken sandwiches and; (b) I appreciate how they interact with and treat their customers.

I will never forget standing in line for over four hours on "support Chik-fil-A day" years ago with my now ex-wife and finally getting to the counter to place my order. I asked the young girl who took our order how long she'd been working that day. She was there eight hours taking orders, still smiling, still happy to help customers. She was reflective of every single person I saw working there that day.

As for every single Chik-fil-A customer I encountered: all happy, smiling, commiserating, no one complained and each and every one there to make a point: to support standing up for God. The chicken sandwiches were just an added benefit.

I won't debate any other point about Chik-fil-A than this: if they lose sight of God and their expressed mission statement as espoused on their "About Us" page, they'll lose a ton of business.

Personally I'll be very interested to see the list of organizations they give to going forward via their year end tax filing.

(off my soapbox.)

The right thing is to spend the resources on your core business and not on causes.

It’s a business. People shop at non Christian stores all the time for food and sundry items.same with chick fil a. I’ll still go there and not worry about what anyone says or does.

The REAL reason:

Because our young people (Millenials and Gen Z) have basically turned their backs on traditional values and have bought into political correctness and LGBTQ propaganda. Doing anything less than celebrating their perversion is bullying and being “mean” to gays in their view.

And marketing is all about capturing the young demographic.
They quit caring what you think when you turn 50.

When looking to “expand” your business, it is important to calculate the “shrinking” of your business.

They lost me and “a few others.”

If Chick-Fil-A wants to expand their customer base and sales, be open on Sunday, if that’s the bottom line.

“They’ve lost me as a customer”

One small victory for the progressives!
