Fiona Hill, former National Security Council senior director for Europe and Russia, will testify before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday, Nov. 21, in the impeachment probe into President Donald Trump. Hill told lawmakers in closed-door testimony last month that then-national security adviser John Bolton expressed concerns that the Trump administration was trying to pressure Ukrainian officials. The focus of the impeachment inquiry is a July 25 phone call in which Trump asked Ukraine's president to investigate 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Holmes just answered loudly “Absolutely!” To the proposition that a few day’s internal hold on the military aid emboldened Russia and weakened Ukraine.
The military aid that only Trump gave them and which was given a couple of weeks before the September 30 deadline.

I prefer the Russian pronunciation of KEE-yev. It is more historically accurate pronunciation and the best prediction of how it will be pronounced again in the near future. Ukraine has been an independent nation so little in the last seven hundred years that it simply isn't worth the time to learn the nuances of the local dialects.

I’m not saying you - but apparently, if you don’t pronounce it the way WE say it and have for 50 years - you are a doofus. THAT’s my point. It IS ok to say it either way. And personally - I want my representatives pronouncing the names of the cities right - especially if the country is sensitive about it (which they may be - people are weird).
