UC Berkeley is hoping to avoid another chaotic clash tonight as it gears up for expected protests on campus in opposition to an anti-immigration speaking engagement by right-wing pundit Ann Coulter.

I’ve lived in the Bay Area for 20 years. Been to Berkeley once. Beautiful campus, overrun with too many idiots that think free speech is a one-way street.
Go snowflakes. Keep playing with fire and see how soon you will melt when it gets hot.
“Free speech” — to liberals — has always meant shouting down opposing viewpoints.
Go for it, protesters. Not our circus, not our elephant anymore.

IIRC, Berkley was once consider the campus/home of free speech back in the 60’s and 70’s. Amazing how much has changed.

Yep. There was a time Republicans were the party of wealth from business earnings. And "the working man" was a Democrat. Seems totally reversed today.
But the professor that insulted rural Americans is OK.

The phony diversity and tolerance on display aside, anti illegal aliens is NOT anti-immigration.

I agree. Liberals are repulsive and not attractive.
UC Berkeley is a wonderful school with the brightest students in the country. The problem is that anarchists from Eugene Ore drive down to damage Berkeley streets and the fools on the Berkeley City Council are ignorant of how to use power to stop violence. One of my friends worked on the Berkeley City Council for one year and when I asked him what he thought of the Council, he said, “Wow. They are the dumbest people I have every met.” Sad how the bright Berkeley professors of politics are ignored by the City Council.
Liberals are tolerant of everyone except Trump voters.
40 years ago, UC Berkeley was a beacon of free speech and open dialogue but today it is a hornets nest of bigotry, bitterness and close minded people. Some of the worst racism in the State of California goes on in the Bay area. Blacks are segregated, to Oakland, Richmond and Hunters point. Very few venture out from beyond those places. And don’t get me started on the laws and the place there.
Yep. I’d protest her now.
