Foreign-Born Researchers At US Agencies Were Secretly Working For China And Recruiting Others,

Foreign-born researchers working for U.S. agencies were secretly on China’s payroll, signing side agreements to send sensitive research to that country as part of a recruitment operation called the Thousand Talents Plan, a Senate report found.

10,000 Chinese nationals in 2018 conducted research in the Department of Energy’s National Labs, and one even had colleagues write him letters of recommendation to the Communist Party-run recruitment program, the bipartisan report stated.

Agencies like NIH do not even track attempted foreign influence, the Department of State denies only 5% of suspicious visas, and the FBI shut down a key program, according to the report.

Foreign-born researchers working at U.S. agencies secretly joined China’s payroll, sending sensitive U.S.-funded research to the country while U.S. government agencies took almost no defensive measures against a major recruitment operation, a Senate investigation found.

Researchers linked to the Chinese government formed a Chinese cell within the Department of Energy, attained access to American genomic data, and recruited other U.S. researchers to join, the bipartisan report stated.

The best weapon is a disease that you’ve already got, and you enemy does not. There are terrible memes in American/Western culture that have damaged us horribly, but we’re surviving. We can give those deadly memes to China. We are giving them to China. The out of control “democracy” that is so destructive here is spreading there. The Chinese form of government cannot withstand a grass roots revolution of entitled peasants demanding the handouts seen given to our underclass.

Watching Hong Kong, it is plain to see. China’s totalitarian communism will not spread to Hong Kong; Hong Kong’s bottom up democratic socialism will spread to China.

China is doomed.

So does anyone get fired for this or is the senate report just meant to be “informational”?

10,000 and arrests are just on par with the Deep State Coup!

All too true, a large number of the conspirators against the President are foreign born as well.

The founders only required a natural born citizen for ONE office and we couldn’t even get ANYONE to uphold that.

The Constitution is an illusion.

Even here on the most conservative website I get people arguing that Anwar al -Awlaki’s kids, born in Yemen to one citizen parent, are natural born citizens eligible to be President.
If Ted is, they are.

The founders used the strictest standard of citizenship they could find, natural born citizen, born here of citizen parents, naturally a citizen because there could be no alternative.
Solely an American with ONE nationality, ONE allegiance, ONE loyalty.

Obama is not a natural born citizen.
His foreign father made him a British subject and Kenyan national at birth.
He may not be a citizen at all.
His mother renounced his US citizenship and made him an Indonesian citizen.
Pretty sure it was an Indonesian passport that he used to travel until he became a US Senator and got a US passport because of the office.
He never naturalized when he came back.
He used a fraudulent social security number for his whole life until the SSA gave him a new one when he was Usurper.
Citizens have their own and don’t need somebody else’s.

Just another example of why it was a really bad idea to allow an ineligible usurper into office.

I worked in medical research too, and there was one Chinese doctor that we all swore was a spy. Very little English, and he was a jerk. This was in the early 80’s. One time he just up and moved my experiment that was in process and took over the space. I wasn’t in that room for about 30 minutes so that I could prepare the next step of the procedure in another room. When I got back to check on my work, I found that he had moved my materials completely out of my work space, and set up his own experiment instead. I was furious! I completely lost it, and yelled, and went to my boss to tell him that now we would be behind schedule. I had to start everything over. I was 2/3 finished with my project! Luckily, I was able to reschedule rooms and equipment necessary again and got that portion of the experiment completed within a couple of days. I really gave that doctor a scolding, which was funny because I was just a tech and he was a visiting Ph.D. About a week later, he came back in my lab space with a silk scarf. I told him he didn’t need to do that, a simple apology was enough, but he insisted and my boss said I should keep it, so as not to offend, so I did take it home. I don’t think I ever used it. After a few years, I finally donated it. Anyway, yes, I agree with your granddaughter. It was hard to trust someone who wouldn’t speak English.

This....offend him...is a lot of crap. That’s how you lose your integrity. You had the upper hand....you should have kept it.

Clearly you are not watching what is going on in Hong Kong.

Yes, perhaps. I reluctantly did what my boss asked me to do, and others in the lab all agreed with him. It’s hard when you are the least senior person to stand up in principle to everyone else. I was very young, just out of college. It was my first job. I didn’t want to ruffle any more feathers. Even though I was right to be upset at what happened, I was chastised for giving the Ph.D. the business that day, because of his seniority and visiting status.
I think they were afraid he would make an international incident of it. Still, he was wrong, and he knew it, because in labs, everyone borrows each other’s space and equipment. You have to request permission ahead of time any time you need to use someone’s space. He wasn’t just dissing me; he was dissing my boss, who was second highest in that department.

It’s funny, I haven’t thought about that episode in my life in over 30 years.

Thank God for President Trump - when at the State Department he's the only aware person in a building full of phonies, idiots and posers.

Water is wet, too!

American governments and companies who hire foreign born people who hold foreign passports and routinely visit family in foreign nations are risking this type of espionage. I have seen contracts from Indian firms that demanded the Indian employees send back software source code. I’ve seen Chinese citizens send back corporate intellectual property documents.

Why does this even qualify as new "news"? Maybe 50-years ago... Certainly not today...

Almost every significant technological accomplishment by China or Russia in the past 75-years has been as a result of the theft of American-technology secrets or American industrial technologies...

INCREDIBLE NEWS. Makes me wonder if we even Need Declassification, given the methodical Reveals that are STRIPPING the secret seditious activity (Treasonous?) allowed in these departments of the Executive Branch!

Including in the TRUMP CAMPAIGN, in the Transition, and right into the White House.

It's FAR WORSE than anyone realizes.. Notice all the so-called "wealthy Chinese" nationals there are living in the U.S.? Does anyone REALLY believe China would allow many of their wealthy Chinese to LEAVE CHINA IF THERE WASN'T SOMETHING IN IT FOR CHINA?

China is probably BANK-ROLLING most of the rich Chinese who are here anyway IN EXCHANGE FOR SPYING. And all the anchor baby madness and maternity hotel insanity going on here is for nefarious reasons so they can MORE EASILY INFILTRATE our SENSITIVE DEFENSE AND TECH INDUSTRIES for even DEEPER SPYING!

I used to always think my Chinese in-laws were talking about me when they would speak Chinese at the table and ignore me. As I learned Chinese I found out I was right.
