As Chick-fil-A expands globally and into more liberal parts of the U.S., the chicken chain plans to change which charities it donates to after years of bad press and protests from the LGBT community.
Beginning next year, Chick-fil-A will move away from its current philanthropic structure, Bisnow has learned. After donating to more than 300 charitable organizations this year, the Atlanta-based fast-food chain will instead focus on three initiatives with one accompanying charity each: education, homelessness and hunger.
"There's no question we know that, as we go into new markets, we need to be clear about who we are," Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Tim Tassopoulos said in an interview with Bisnow. "There are lots of articles and newscasts about Chick-fil-A, and we thought we needed to be clear about our message."
The new initiative will no longer include donating to organizations like the Salvation Army, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Paul Anderson Youth Home, Chick-fil-A says, all of which sparked criticism in the past from the LGBT community due to the organizations stances on homosexuality.

The legacy of the late Samuel Truett Cathy (1921-2014) was buried in Atlanta today. Cathy's three children, now sole owners of the privately-held Chick-fil-A restaurant and real estate empire, were conspicuously absent as CFA President Tim Tassopoulos publicly renounced their father's legacy of faithfulness to God in the face of conventional business practices.
Loyal supporter of Chick-fil-A have expressed stunned disappointment in the company's decision to withdraw its support for pro-family organizations such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The perception of many loyal CFA supporters is that Chick-fil-A's has surrendered to the false argument that equates "pro-family" with "anti-gay," and that now-abandoned pro-family ministries will face increasing attacks with diminishing resources.
Futher disappointment was expressed in Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy's decision to wash his hands of the affair while his deputy made the official announcement to the media. Cathy siblings Trudy Cathy White and Chick-fil-A EVP Bubba Cathy also avoided comment on their company's sudden withdrawal from its longstanding leadership in Christian philanthropy.
God will not be amused. And their business will tank.
Why are you spreading disinformation here?
Cannot believe everyone is falling for this clap trap. Nothing more then a ploy to bring down Chick Fil A.
It only took you 6 minutes to fall for this?
Translation: Anybody who thinks a marriage is between a man and a woman or believes the Bible.
Salvation Army is also surreptitiously under attack by the state of Oregon. Time for us to increase our donations to them.
There seems to be a pretty high fake news/leftist propaganda spin on this. The truth may take a few days to come into focus.
Because you fell for a lie super fast.
such annoying timing too. after Kanye West paid it homage in his Christian song “Closed on Sunday”
as some have noted, they might as well be open on Sunday’s now!
This is a huge mistake, not just for Chick-fil-A, but for every person and organization that gives to any cause opposed by the totalitarian Left. These people will not be appeased, they will be emboldened and use this victory to further intimidate both Chick-fil-A and anybody else that they care to target in the future. Feeding the alligator doesnt make him go away, it just makes him come back for more. This is a lesson that is as old as time, but some people never learn it.
Poor Mods.
They have been deleting this story 4-5 times today. All day.
Or locking the thread.

No more Chic Fil A
