Sophie Vershbow has seen her share of "OK, boomer" memes in recent weeks. The phrase that's suddenly everywhere is meant to convey a fundamental disconnect between younger generations and baby boomers who cling to outdated, off-base ideas.
To Vershbow, a 30-year-old social media manager, the sentiment behind the memes is this: "I think it's a dismissive, 'OK, whatever you say.' "
Case in point: 25-year-old New Zealand lawmaker Chloe Swarbrick recently hurled the "OK, boomer" phrase at older colleagues heckling her during her speech in support of a climate change bill.

As a Generation Xer just sitting back and enjoying the carnage.
lol...
Ouch that must hurt Boomers who think it is always 1968.
I like, #Ok commie
‘68 was a rough year, with a glorious end. I just wish it were the entire ‘60’s all over again. It was wild.
I have a different point of view. “Okay boomer” is a different way of demeaning older people who might have memories of the days before political correctness existed. It’s another way of marginalizing the teaching of inter- generational history. Some of us boomers are Reagan and Jesse Helms guys.
The day will come where millennials will have to figure out how to eat their smartphones to survive. Everything they think to be so important is ephemeral, frivolous, and irrelevant to sustaining life. Lets see if they can live on selfies.

OK boomer is millennial speak for f*ck you boomer.

Once we old white guys croak the Millennial scum will get the society they’ve been clamoring for. Deprivation, violence, sorrow and tyranny are coming their way hard.
But not soon enough.
How about this answer: Not okay, death soon, nothing to lose. Are you okay? Are you okay, right now?
Then they become fearful. Hate the enemy. Make them regret an weep.
Apparently someone didn’t get a participation trophy today.
She also thinks, "OK, boomer," to herself when colleagues don't understand the concept of a fluid gender identity. "They'll say something like, 'You know, there are only two genders.' And I mean, I understand that that's how they were raised, but that kind of stuff just doesn't fly now."
OK, Millennial. LOL.
Yup - if we ever face an EMP attack - they're screwed - and hard.
I agree. When millennials age and the youth of the day attack them it will be over socialism and how they enslaved future generations. Millennials are among the most uneducated and unreliable of the generations.
YES!
I prefer #OKpajamaboy
