A major gay rights organization is pushing for 20 percent of all television characters to be LGBT by the year 2025.
According to a report called "Where We Are on TV", which was released Thursday from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the presence of characters who identify as LGBT in television programming is key to changing hearts and minds in culture. The report cites an online survey of 2,037 adults indicating that one-fifth of Americans ages 18-34 and that 12 percent of all adults identify as LGBT or other non-heterosexual, non-biological gender categories.
GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis notes in the report that “less than one-quarter of Americans have a close friend or family member who is transgender,” meaning that many Americans “learn about trans people from what they see in television, movies, and news.”
The online survey used in the GLAAD media report is more reflective of what many perceive about percentages of LGBT-identified persons rather than the actual figures from reputable polling organizations.

No doubt in Hollywood and the Entertainment Industry it probably is 20%. Once gays move into an area, Straights move out. That’s why they’ve taken over the media, soup to nuts.
HGTV and Foodnetwork are about 50%.
I am not just talking commercials. I am talking shows.
Barf. Saw a preview the other night of High School Musical which seemed 100% gay.
Waiting for NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN news anchors to all give up their jobs for LGBTXYQZ’s to deliver the news to America.
And in our libraries and schools.
“And why have a greater representation of other mental illnesses? Why not greater role for schizophrenics, psychotics, compulsive disorders?”
I was thinking, ff you look at actual actors, actresses, and politicians sad to say we probably do.
The whole proportional representation requirement is a rabbit hole with no end.
It was Lifetime. I saw that one last year and commented on FR about it. Noticed it was on again over the weekend and nearly barfed again. Did you notice the Chewy pet food was predominantly displayed and in the script? Chewy immediately went on my ban list and I’ll stick with Hallmark’s CHRISTmas movies.
Last Christmas, every other commercial featured gay couples. Haven’t seen as many this year but betting they will make up for it after Thanksgiving. The tv is on mainly for background noise but the remote is still getting worn out from switching channels off this filth.
Death knoll for television as if it needed another stake in its’ heart.
Do as I do! Turn off things like Jerry Springer, Ru Pauls Drag Race, etc., anything else that smacks of queers or lesbians. As soon as the queer stuff starts, off it goes. I will not watch their slop. Maybe when the networks realize that the public is not watching, they will start giving us something decent.

They just HAVE TO keep pushing this down our throats it has just become NEVER ENDING!!!!
So remove it. Cancel tv. Do not participate in stores that use it.
Get rid of on line places that use it.
We live in probably the only time in life where there is such a bounty of things to use to learn and to be entertained by, that we can surround ourselves with everything that builds us up.
