I know someone whod be excited at this prospect, but how realistic is another Hillary Clinton presidential run? At least according to the woman herself, a lot of people are pushing hard for Hillary to toss her hat in the ring against Donald Trump. In an interview with the BBC picked up by the Daily Mail and others, Hillary says that beating Trump should be the focus rather than fighting over who gets to do it:
She said: I say the same thing every time people ask, Ill do everything I can to retire the incumbent. That can be by supporting those running. Im just grateful for the opportunities that I have had. I loved being in public life; the good, the bad, the ugly.
A lot are pushing hard [for me to run again] but I really believe we have to keep our focus on what it will take to get a new president and get our country back all the attacks on our institutions, undermining the rule of law everything thats going on.
I think we are in a global struggle for democracy and I dont say that lightly. I think theres a rise of autocrats who think its their way or no way and Im worried there are people in my country including the president who are enamoured and who seem to have great admiration for dictators who wants to do away with all the messiness of coming together to make decisions.
Its hard in a democracy you dont have someone telling you what to do you gotta say okay Im gonna vote, participate and support the best direction and there can be differences thats all part of it. Im really worried about my country right now and I want to make sure whoever is running knows what the stakes are.
A lot of people are pushing hard to get the one person who could have possibly lost to Donald Trump to try it again, eh? Who would those people be, besides Philippe Reines, Huma Abedin, and ol Bill? The networks?
That might be too snarky a take, however cheesy this claim is coming during a book tour for Hillarys book Gutsy Women. A week ago, it would have looked silly to argue that Democrats lacked potential realistic candidates for the 2020 contest, but then the New York Times did its survey of swing states showing Trump leading or competitive against their frontrunners. Not coincidentally, Michael Bloomberg suddenly developed interest again in a presidential run, and now Deval Bain Capital Patrick has sent out feelers as well.
So yes, its possible that Hillarys hearing from a lot of people within the party that she should give it another go. It does appear that panic is emerging from the party establishment that they could snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. In this environment, returning to the woman that the party groomed for fifteen years to succeed her husband at some point might look like a good alternative. Thats a rather large investment to write off, after all.
The problem with this idea is that same NYT survey shows Democrats weakest in the states Hillary lost in 2016. Why would they trust her to do any better the second time? On top of that, voters in these states who already rejected Hillary might well wonder why the DNC is shoving her down their throats a second time. Theres no better way to prove a disconnect between the Democratic establishment and voters than to tell them they made a terrible mistake the last time, and now theyd better behave and vote correctly this time or else.
Whether shes getting recruited or not, though, Hillarys making sure that they know she can be recruited. This is the point of having a book tour that emphasizes identity politics and allows her to offer unchallenged discourse, only perhaps a lot of people havent yet taken Hillarys hint. Or perhaps shes not taking theirs.
Took 5 posts, you beat me to it. LOL
The people that are pushing her to run are her former consultants.
The lease on their 2017 Ferraris are running out. The wife and/or misteresses want new bling. Country club dues, pool cleaning services, drug addictions cost a lot of money.
Where that money can be found/scammed is have Hillary! run again. If she loses, they still get paid.
Hillary I think you have that wrong.... THERE ARE PEOPLE DIEING FOR YOU TO RUN!
The people pushing hard are the rich marxists, like soros, who desperately want this country to turn to a steaming pile of $***. They will give her money and intimidate the news media into supporting her.
It’s now obvious that the higher up dems know that the current crop of aspirants is a total failure. That accounts for hillary getting back in the running, and bloomberg. They know that not even a lizzy warden can win, and they feel, in their ego-centered ravings, that they can win.
Seriously, now. Can anyone take peter butterbut seriously? kamala (who claims to be Black), castro who thinks he’s fidel castro? What a bunch of losers.
We need to update the cartoon.
Hillary has put on 100lbs since it was done
Hillary is the scape goat.
When she is nominated, all the others will shed the shame of losing
“People” are pushing her? Like Eleanor Roosevelt who she claimed to channel?
But I think “T-Bone” is still for Cory.
That’s a keeper!
Its the same defense that Biden is trying to use now.
Biden was a very bad boy while VP and this is being investigated now, with consequences likely to follow that dont include his being President.
His team is trying to say President Trump is investigating poor ol Joe simply because Biden is Trumps political opponent and that just aint right.
But ... if Joes been a bad boy, which is becoming obvious to even the most casual observer, then Hillary makes sleepy Joe look like mommas most precious, sweet angel of innocence and light.
Shes looking for every way possible and impossible to stay out of prison, and if being a Presidential candidate again will keep the Krakens away, then we should expect to see her enter the race very soon.
Given past experiences with the Clintons and current rumors, I suspect whats lining up against her will be breathtaking to behold.
I wonder if shell ask for a blindfold or if just try to stare em down.
Hillary doesn’t have the strength to run through the primaries. The other candidates are not going to just step aside so she can have another (her 3rd) run.
Her other option is to hope for a brokered convention and the leadership to come begging her to save the party. That, too, is highly unlikely.
She gonna need all the he'p {that's hillary's southern talk} she can get.
Do you think that Trump supporters would get fired up if the hildabutchbitch were the demonRAT can't-D-date.
Oh boy, that's great.
methinks she keeps seeing the bumper sticker “run hillary run” on the front bumper of cars...
Billary, Inc. themselves are behind the scences obtaining the voices “calling” her to run again. They are manufacturing the scene. No one really wants her. She would, for the Democrats, be worse than Warren. Warren is intellectually corrupt, but Billary, Inc. is corrupt all over.
I watched a few minutes of the NY Times interview. She seemed coherent to me, a lot more so than Biden. However, watch her hands. She has been trained to clasp her hands when not gesturing. Her election night failure to greet her supporters is eyebrow raising. She was either drunk on her ass or had a medical condition like Parkinson's. It could have been both, too...
“I loved being in the public life. The good, the bad, and the ugly.” -— Can you spell narcissist?
Maybe so, but I’m thinking Bill needs more than an energetic woman to do his thing. A battery operated pump, maybe...
Wobble, Hillary, Wobble!
Or maybe, Waddle, Hillary, Waddle! Or Slide, Hillary, slide”, à la, Charlie Brown.
I hope she will run. I would like to she her shot down for a third time.
Does she have the paperwork done ?

She only needs paperwork if she intends to get on State ballots. Which she does not intend to do.
