Democrats' new moves show House could wrap up impeachment by Christmas

(CNN) House Democrats are signaling they are now on a fast-track in their impeachment proceedings, avoiding court battles that could delay their inquiry and limiting the number of witnesses at public hearings -- all signs that President Donald Trump could be impeached as soon as next month.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not shared her thinking on the final timeline with her colleagues, and Democratic sources say the timing is still fluid and could continue to evolve.

But in a series of moves this week, Democrats have shown they are rapidly moving to complete the proceedings by Christmas, something that could result in Trump being just the third president to be impeached in history.

The schedule became apparent in recent days after House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, announced that public hearings would begin next week and also suggested Thursday there's a limit to the witnesses they would call for the public hearings.

RATS better hurry up. The poll numbers on the basement inquisition stunt are dropping. BTW, when will the Barr indictments come out? My guess - soon after.

avoiding court battles that could delay their inquiry

Basically they won't sue to have subpoenas enforced. Instead they will deem non-appearance to be impeachable conduct, regardless.

Too bad the press keeps the public ignorant and misinformed.

If anyone is wondering whether this is a political gimmick or serious, limiting the number of public witnesses should answer that question.

There’s a couple things at work here ...

They want the Senate part done early, so those Dem Senators that are currently campaigning won’t be off the trail too much

But there’s also the real possibility of RBG passing soon, which would start a quick Senate confirmation process ... which the Dems would then love to interrupt / delay with their “impeachment” circus

Mitch could dismiss all these bogus charges real quick if he wanted to, simply based on the lack of due process ... next few months will be interesting!!

Right and the press fails to mention that the entire process is 100% political; that normal legal procedures do not apply; that the House has absolute control over what does or does not happen; that the House can bring whatever charges it wishes regardless of facts or evidence.

The Sham Wow version of impeachment,or the Dollar store version if you prefer.
Talk about a condensed version of such a monumental act! Just call my witnesses, dictate what questions can be asked, not allowing members to give their time to question a witness to another member, hiding the main,so called whistleblower from testifying, having veto power over witnesses the minority can call?
Geez this impeachment scam could be a segment on a Ripleys Believe it or Not series.
What a freaking joke

This should take about 10 minutes. All Republicans have to ask is, “
were you on the call?”

ONE of the MAIN Reasons they want Trump to be IMPEACHED is to have the same Asterisk of “IMPEACHMED” next to his name , the same as CLINTON’S!

All true. There is nothing in the constitution that forces the House to not act like ninnies.

The press is treating the impeachment farce as a quasi-legal undertaking following "regular" process. The implication being that suitable integrity is in play.

Funny thing is that most of the public gets sucked into defective issue framing, things like "not legitimate because hearsay," or "not legitimate because not due process" get play.

The accusation is bogus at its foundation, plus the accusation involves violation of executive privilege, etc.

So, how’s Pelosi doing with her Hunters Point and Treasure Island property scams?

This doesn’t sound like a fast process at all. Just a few weeks ago someone was quoting Mitch McConnell as telling Republicans in the Senate to be prepared for a trial to start around Thanksgiving.

impeachment by Christmas>>>>>>>>

‘t Was the night before Christmas and all through the House
Not a creature was stirring, not even a louse
The stockings were hung by the gavel with care
In the hopes that Trump soon would be there

The Dems were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of impeachment danced in their heads.
Nancy in her kerchief and Schiff in his cap
Had just settled down for more propaganda pap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter
Away to the window I flew with a flash
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
Gave a luster of mid-day to objects below.
When what to my wondering eyes should happen?
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny Publicans

With an orange haired driver so lively and plump
Well I knew in a moment, it must be President Trump
More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came
And he whistled and he shouted and he called them by name

“On McConnel, on Nunes, on Jordon and Crawford
On Stewart, on Stefanik, on Hurd and Ratcliffe!
To the top of the portico, to the top of the dome
Now, dash away, dash away, dash away home!”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly
When they meet to an obstacle mount to the sky
So up to the rooftop the coursers they flew
With a sleigh full of tax cuts and President Trump too.

And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing, the nawing of each little tooth
As I drew in my head and was turning around
Down the chimney Trump came with a bound

He was dressed all in fur from his head to his foot
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot
A bundle of tax cuts he had flung on his back
And he looked and said, “propaganda be damned!”

His eyes, how they twinkled, his dimples, how merry
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry
His droll little mouth was drawn up in a bow
And the shine on his grin was as white as the snow

The stump of an egg roll, he held tight in his teeth
And the plum sauce aroma, showed China his feat
He had a broad face and a little round belly
That shook when laughed (ho, ho, ho, ho) like a bowl full of jelly
(ho, ho, ho, ho)

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old Prez
And I laughed when I saw him in spite of his says
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know Al-Bagdhadi was dead

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work
And filled all the stockings and turned with a twerk
And laying a finger to the side of his nose
And giving a nod up the chimney he rose

He sprang to his sleigh, and to his team gave a whistle
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle
But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight
“Keep America Great and remember the date!”

The current coup is using “the seriousness of the charge proves the guilt” methods. To wit, DJT will have to prove negatives

-- The current coup is using "the seriousness of the charge proves the guilt" methods. --

Among numerous other fundamental defects.

The WH is not subject to any IG oversight, yet here is an IG (Atkinson) asserting his office has WH oversight. Incredible. And he is getting away with it, and Congress is singing "protect the whistleblower."

And then there is the quid pro quo canard.

Rome's government gave the people circuses. Our government IS the circus.

They are , as a last resort because they have nothing, a tag to include on Trumps name, the impeached president Trump. The media now has what it needs to batter the public with this label till election day 2020 with a hope that it will kill his numbers. Taking a passage from another freeper, I crawled thru broken glass to vote for Trump in 2016 I will crawl thru broken glass again in 2020 but this time I will bring as many as I can with me

They also want it to be campaign issue, when they keep saying Republican voters are corrupt, because they support an impeached President who is running an reelection campaign. They don’t care if he’s convicted.
