Buck, 63, a white gay man known for his donations to Democratic Party candidates and successful push for West Hollywood to adopt a ban on fur sales, is facing two federal charges of providing drugs resulting in death and three counts of distributing methamphetamine. The deaths are those of Gemmel Moore, 26, a young black sex-worker, and Timothy Dean, 50, also black, who had worked at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills. the case is so unusual and so complex, due to the nature of the prosecution and the voluminous discovery, that it is unreasonable to expect preparation for pre-trial proceedings or for the trial itself within the time limits established by the Speedy Trial Act.
It doesnt sound so complex to me. Other than his donations to Democratic Party candidates it sounds pretty straight forward.

A plea deal seems likely, assuming that acceptable money settlements are made with the surviving overdose victim and the families of the two dead victims. My guess is that a federal sentence of five to ten years would then ensue.
To: Ken H
The election is three months later after the trial

You watch. On the first day of the trial the first order of business will be postponing it past the election. Bet on it.

I think you are all wet about what is going to happen. I’m watching a few things happening in other areas right now that are quite compelling that can shake the whole system up.

Horowitz, Durham, and Barr?
1) Any Day Now.
2) 4 to 6 weeks.
3) Four to Six Months.
4) The Crack of Doom.
I guess the timing on some jokes has to be just right to really be funny.

She’s a CLINTON JUDGE, and she’s moving the trial out 9 months. Seems like a long time, and all she needs to do is move it out 3 more months, and it will be AFTER the 2020 election...which is certain to happen.
Republicans need to LEARN from people like her - people who take care of their own politically. She is not about to let this trial interfere with the 2020 election.

He’ll be released on bail in order to comply with “speedy trial”.
He’ll be in France, or somewhere, within 2 days.
