President Trump is going to Louisiana on Wednesday to rally his supporters to vote out the only Democrat holding a statewide office there. The race pits John Bel Edwards, the only Democratic governor in the South, against businessman Eddie Rispone.
Edwards initially held a slight advantage, but the outcome has become a tossup since Edwards fell shy of the 50% he needed to avoid the November runoff.
How to watch the Louisiana Trump rally What: President Trump rally Date: Wednesday, November 6, 2019 Time: 8 p.m. ET Location: Monroe Civic Center Monroe, Louisiana Online stream: Watch in the video player above
More From CBS:
"Louisiana, get out and Vote Early for @EddieRispone as your next Governor. Lower Taxes and car insurance. Will protect your 2nd Amendment. John Bel Edwards is always fighting our MAGA Agenda. Wants to raise your taxes and car insurance to the sky. Vote for Republican Eddie R!," he tweeted on Monday.Rispone, a millionaire construction magnate and prominent GOP donor making his first bid for public office, often paints himself as a Trump-like outsider who wouldn't be a "politically correct" governor. He contrasts his image with Edwards by frequently associating him with the establishment and pointing out that he was a superdelegate for Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Edwards, however, is socially conservative on some key issues, including abortion. He was part of a wave of governors this year who signed a bill to ban abortions after six weeks. Louisiana which could become the first state without legal abortion access, depending on the outcome of a Supreme Court case has the highest percentage of people who believe all forms of abortion should be illegal.
Trump won the state of Louisiana in 2016 with 58% of the vote.
Only five governors in Louisiana's history have won a second term.
Yep they give me hope too!
No snowflakes there!
And, yes, gotta support RSBN with $$$. They have said there will be probably over 200 rallies between now and 2020 election and they will cover every one!
Glad to see you here.
bttt
Cool. Signing up for the klowdtv free service requires no credit card info and they stream it right on the website too. Only choice is small screen or full screen though.
Actually the usual is a about 5-6000. Only rare it gets to 7. Even so it’s a smaller venue. And interesting they haven’t had a sitting Pres. go to monroe for 36 years!
The one ahead of this in Lousianna holds 15,000.
Howver NONE of the canditates on the other side can pull even close to what Trump does even in his smallest venue!
You’re most welcome.
Getting settled in to enjoy another wonderful KAG rally on CSPAN.
Before the rally, they will be reairing today’s PDJT’s speech on judicial nominations from the East Room.
You’re very welcome.
Please read my post #46.
Yes, it’s a smaller venue for sure. Hope we get crowd estimates (inside and outside).
“The seats behind the podium have a long way to go”
It’s been posted that a lot of time they don’t fill those seats for security reasons — immediately behind the President’s head could be dicey.
The guy speaking now on RSBN is pretty peppy, and a good announcer. Is he new?
Lolo that took quite awhile, but Happy No More Gillette Day!
Yes. Those seats are now full almost.
The floor is also full.
Hope they tell us the crowd outside also.
The RSBN speaker said he is usually behind the camera or at the RSBN headquarters. This is his first time in front of the camera. Think he’s doing a very good job.
Yeah; he’s doing great!!
The RSBN announcer (young lady) just said the crowd inside is about 7500 (that includes those on the arena floor).
GOOD!
Ok ...That’s Great! Now I’ve got to find a link to watch! LOLOL
Will enjoy watching with you! (I used the link in the title of this thread to get to the RSBN broadcast. But you may want somewhere else).
