A 25-year-old New Zealand lawmaker on Tuesday offered a blunt response to a colleague who apparently heckled her during a speech she gave addressing the urgency of climate change on the floor of Parliament: “OK, boomer.”
Chlöe Swarbrick, a member of the Green Party, expressed the statement as she emphasized how the consequences of climate change will fall on people of her generation.
As she expressed support for legislation to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, Swarbrick noted how she would be around the age of the average lawmaker in Parliament by that time.
"We are in a climate crisis, if we don't get this right, nothing else matters. ... In the year 2050, I will be 56 years old, yet right now the average age of this 52nd Parliament is 49 years old," she said, prompting what appears to be an audible gasp and a heckle.
Swarbrick then raised her hand before replying "OK boomer" and moving on with her speech. It is unclear who Swarbrick was directing the remark toward.

Sounds like she went to school in the US.
They are gearing up for murdering people when they reach a certain age. Only people with sufficient “social credit” will be exempt. Everyone else will be required to report to a “end of life facility” upon reaching some arbitrary age (70).
That’s why they want the guns. They can’t have some “boomer” Vietnam Vet taking a few of the precious millennials with “social credit” with them on the way out.

Yes. It’s all fun and games until that hand-flower turns black. “May they grow old in the world they are making”.
My thirteen-year-old daughter had to explain this one to me. It’s the latest insult that yoots like to use to dismiss their elders. I told her that’s fine, but since I’m not a Boomer OR an Xer (born in 1966), she’d better never use it on me unless she wants to find out what life was like when I was a kid, with no technology and a paddle or a belt at the ready.

My child, grown daughter, treated us like crap for a few years while she was married to this guy. His family started it but she allowed it, backed off from us and more or less abandoned us to not cause problems with her hubby. My response? I changed everything to be split up between the grandkids. She gets nothing. She finally came around when she realized what a piece of crap he was and was planning on leaving him. In other words....she needed us again. I’m glad she reversed but everything is still going to the grandkids.

I’ve used it a couple of times in fustration with people that clearly think that their old man nihilism should be something to humor. Same as I say to millennials with their arrogant know-it-all attitude.

Undoubtedly the stupidest, most worthless generation we’ve ever seen, except for a minority that would, of course, include our young veterans.
Blame the parents and education establishment all you want, I won’t disagree.
But there’s something else at work here, and I’m quite at a loss to say exactly what it is.
Ideas welcome ...
