Those are states he would likely carry, as he did last time, by a relatively narrow margin. Meanwhile, Trump's extreme and intense unpopularity among Democrats points to a 2020 vote in which the margin of his loss in "blue" states could be enormous. Instead of winning an anemic 31.6 percent of the vote in California, as he did in 2016, Trump might realistically pull in just 25 percent in 2020...

Democrats and their allies would be perfectly justified in taking to the streets in outraged protest, and they would almost certainly do so — in numbers that would rival or surpass what we've seen in recent weeks in Chile. More radical factions, including troublemaking Antifa activists, would do their best to spark violence, with the president egging them on with taunts on Twitter, and in speeches at rallies and at official events.
With protests growing in size and unrest increasing, municipalities would send in the police, just as Trump would eventually deploy the national guard, to restore order using force. Which would only intensify the indignation fueling the protests, leading the cycle to continue and escalate...

That 5 million vote margin could very well come from Los Angeles County, San Francisco County, Marin County and Sacramento County. Trust me, those are not the values that represent the values of the thousands of other counties across America that President Trump will win.

Only 1 president has won re election by fewer votes than his first election in thr last 100 years and that was Obama.
Trump is not losing support no poll, not a single one that publishes internals has shown the president losing support, not one!!! In fact every one I have looked at the internals have shown Trump gaining support.
The Democrats best case for 2020 is around 15 states period. And they are not remotely heading into a best case scenario for them
It’s a lesson to America on how New York City and Los Angeles don’t get to run the whole country, no matter how large their populations swell.

I’m wondering about something new. Warren and the other maniacs have campaign promises to do away with private insurance and tax away wealth. Is the media getting more even-handed about coverage of President Trump? They’d fall into the class of people that would be hammered by the crazy proposals.

So what do they want us to do? Disenfranchise about 45 states so that the mob-rule vote wins the day? If that ever happens, it’s game over for America.
We have the electoral system for damn a good reason. It holds the states together as one Republic. Without it, we’re doomed. It’s essential to our American identity.
I would really like one state, let’s say Alaska maybe, to take one for the team and declare that it will revert to having the state legislature choose its presidential electors rather than state voters, as was done originally before each state, separately, decided to delegate that power to its voters.
This would make it clear that the national popular vote is a complete fiction and does not in fact exist, since the presidential votes we cast on election day are 50+ separate votes in separate state (+DC) elections.
So if Alaska (or any one other state) reverted to using its legislature, then the media could no longer report fake “national” popular vote data that falsely accumulates the results from those completely separate elections.
if Trump gets a majority in the electoral college, it IS a mandate.

this is not a direct election for the President.
