The Mexican authorities are now throwing the cartels an excuse, stating publicly the assassins may have mistaken the "large SUV's" driven by the American families as ones belonging to a rival gang. So this was all a "mistake".

The words "incineration" and "obliteration" immediately come to mind.

Surely you jest Biggirl. It is impossible for the drug cartels to do business here without the cooperation of Banks, Judges and Law enforcement. Since that could not go unnoticed by Politicians the likely hood some aren't involved would be astronomical.

We have known that for more than 30 years and the corruption is not confined to the US it is present in any country that has a thriving drug business.

Without an addicted base here the market would not exist. Maybe that is why the movement to legalize pot has been so successful.

It's gonna happen someday, but it will have to be a full-scale invasion and long-term occupation.

If we do go down there, let's not let 'em keep half like the last time. Take it all down to the Guatemala border and run the place. In 20-30 years it would be prosperous and look like Texas.

I’d suggest we send in ordnance. Simply annihilate the known cartel properties in the wee hours of the morning. If they try to retaliate, we double the damage in a follow-up fusillade, close all border crossings and place our military personnel along the border with orders to keep it secured at all costs.
