After the murder of nine American women and children in Mexico by vicious drug cartels yesterday, Republican Senator Ben Sasse is sending a warning about the state of the country and its government.
“Drug cartels ambushed an innocent family on their way to a wedding and massacred nine Americans, including babies. The hard truth is that Mexico is dangerously close to being a failed state. This is what happens when Mexico’s politicians look the other way and let drug cartels bribe their way to power. Enough," Sasse released in a statement. "Mexico’s president hasn’t taken the threat seriously and innocent American lives have been lost again. The Mexican government must partner with U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies to wage a full-scale offensive against these butchers.”
A near failed state that shares a 2000-mile long border with the United States...quite the statement.
On Tuesday morning, President Trump offered Mexico assistance with the elimination of drug cartels wreaking havoc on local communities.
This is the time for Mexico, with the help of the United States, to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth. We merely await a call from your great new president!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 5, 2019
The problem? Mexican cartels control the government through corruption, bribes and threats of violence. Just two weeks ago 14-police officers were murdered in Mexico. The LA Times reports it was a "test" on the Mexican President's security.
A police convoy was passing through a small town in western Mexico on Monday morning when bullets began to fly. It was an ambush by one of Mexico’s most violent criminal groups.
In a matter of minutes, 14 police officers were killed and several of their vehicles set on fire. Handwritten messages left at the scene were signed “CJNG” — short for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel — and accused the police of working with rival groups.
The assault in El Aguaje in the state of Michoacan was the latest in a series of spectacular high-casualty attacks attributed to the cartel, one of Mexico’s most ascendant and audacious criminal organizations.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration remains focused on securing the U.S. southern border with Mexico.
Sasse is an open borders scumbag.
The puerile idiot Sasse just figured this out?
Anyone in the border states has been seeing and saying this for 30 years.
Meanwhile, vacuous fools like Little Bennie keep talking about “Diversity is our strength! Let them in!”.
Now he gets scared because the reality of who they are is obvious?
Pathetic.
Actually, I fear that the situation here with our government and corruption is not THAT much different from Mexico.
Anybody see wall?
Sasse continues to be a numbskull.
From Ben Sasse? No
“The Mexican government must partner with U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies to wage a full-scale offensive against these butchers.
Haven’t we tried this how many times? Haven’t we givin them billions in military aid for years? When does it stop?
Mexican officials would never take up Trump on his offer for two reasons; first is the obvious fear of targeting and assassination. Second is the fear of losing sovereignty to the U.S., which to them is worse than losing control to cartels.
The Obama Administration was actually allied with the Sinola Cowboys
There is something seriously wrong with Sasses thinking process.
It’s hard to imagine anyone caring what Ben Sasse has to say on any subject.
That said, it would be a major mistake to send US military forces into Mexico. A major mistake.
Mexico is a failed state which relies on the USA. Mexicans come to the USA to work because Mexico doesn’t create jobs. Mexicans come to the USA to escape crime and corruption which infiltrate government and law enforcement. They send their criminals here.
It is a failure. We keep it afloat.
It's gonna happen someday, but it will have to be a full-scale invasion and long-term occupation.
Well then Mr Sasse the ass. Maybe we should have a wall. And maybe we shouldn’t flood Nebraska with illegals for ag work.
Freepmail me sport.. I’m what they call an “idea man”.
Yeah, this is just posturing to take advantage of a scare situation that he helped create. Notice that he proposes no effective action, just policy-wonk nattering. If the US took effective action, what would Sasse and his sleazy ilk have to run on?
His open borders, take it easy on the cartels posturing is simply to advance his own power.
Ive been saying interdiction drones and disappearing cartel leaders would be fairly easy. But the response would be more significant than ISIS.
We should have taken action years ago. Maybe we should just pay more than they do.
I agree and the money likely comes from the same places/people at times. America is in no position to throw stones at Mexico for being corrupt. Not when it's common knowledge DC is filled to the brim with corruption, mostly on the left, but some on the right too. Greed knows no party affiliation. Dems are more open to corruption because their lack of values, self esteem, and dignity makes it a shorter trip.
I guess if they can’t get Trump to wage war in the ME, they will try to go to war with Mexico.
The neocons want war. I don’t think they care where.
WAR? Go fight, Ben.
1) War (especially undeclared)
2) Debt slavery https://usdebtclock.org
3) Aiding and abetting invaders who harm our citizens...
4) POS anti-American politicians
100) (Your list may vary)
