Hillary Clinton on Monday urged Democrats to choose a nominee who can win the Electoral College in 2020.
"We have to hope that whoever ends up nominated can win the Electoral College," she said at a discussion of her book, "The Book of Gutsy Women," in Denver.
"I think several of our candidates could win the popular vote but as I know... that's not enough," added the 2016 Democratic nominee.
"I don't think we have a choice; we have to win" in 2020, she said, speaking alongside her daughter and co-author Chelsea Clinton at a sold-out event. She urged a supportive crowd of almost 2,000 people to "work hard for your preference in the primary" but "close ranks behind whoever is nominated."
"Do not let anyone you know vote third party," she said.
Without ever using President Trump's name, Clinton warned that this administration will leave damage that "is going to take some work to repair."

Hence all the attacks on russian asset Tulsi. To tie together this thread with the one about the Wall Street folks fleeing from grey beaver and another about cankles calling for someone who can win the Electoral College, it's a sure thing that she's running, and fears that the bernie folks and Wall Street folks will flee to Tulsi if she runs 3rd party.
She is stealth bernie in an attractive package who can lie convincingly. She will campaign for sound economics, even as she gives a wink to the free-stuff crowd that the big giveaway is coming, and she will also satisfy the funding needs for the military-industrial complex.
If Tulsi and cankles show up on the post-primary debate stage, it's all over for candles, the vote is split and President Trump glides to an easy re-election victory.
As they say, third times a charm - which Hillary is counting on.
Seriously, it would be naive in the extreme to discount the probability that the 20 clowns in the Democrat 2020 Presidential freak show are actually there to be serious candidates as opposed to far left stalking horses whose job it is to keep their respective factions of the Democrats rabid activist base properly pandered to and ginned up while keeping them divided enough to avoid the kind of general election resentment that hurt them with the Hillary PUMAS in ‘08 and the Bernie Bots in ‘16.
The real “centrist” Democrat will be “begged” to accept the Presidential nomination to save the Democrat Party from itself and to save the world from the Orange Man.
Hillary has always intended to be that centrist, the problem is that her stalking horses have always broken from pack and kept her from crossing the finish line with a win.
