A ticked-off driver pulled a gun in a road rage incident but turns out, he pointed the pistol at a car full of plain-clothes cops, a high ranking police source said.
A ticked-off driver pulled a loaded, stolen gun on a car only to discover that it was full of plainclothes cops, a high-ranking police source said Sunday.
Glenn Grays allegedly pointed the .45-caliber gun out his window after cutting off the car carrying undercover detectives from the Brooklyn North Gang Unit on the westbound Belt Parkway on Saturday in Sheepshead Bay, according to the source.
Grays, a 31-year-old United States Postal Service employee, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and menacing, the source said.
He was ordered held in lieu of $25,000 bail following an arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Sunday evening.
Grays was wearing his postal-worker uniform during the incident.

The mailman was previously busted in March on charges of strangulation and property damage over a February incident, court records show. That case is still pending. But, but, he was turning his life around. He was taking rap lessons at night school in order to better himself.

It’s a lot for a postal worker.
He will have to come up with $2500 for the bond company to get out on bail.
$2500 is even more for someone who just lost their job.
Add to that several thousand for the lawyer.
And if he can’t afford a lawyer.
The difficulty getting a new job with charges and court dates pending.
His life is screwed.
He can recover, but ouch!!!

None of these replies mentioned it, but the article sez the gun was stolen. I’d imagine THAT fact makes the cheese a lot more binding. On top of that, it’s Noo Yawk State. The one thing that might help is, he has the right color Get Out of Jail Free card, if you get my drift.

Wondering what the cops did to piss him off ..." So you're not a cop hater yet you jump to that conclusion. If the car was full of nuns I would have said "Wondering what the nuns did to piss him off".
Clear enough yet?

Yes, my point exactly.
In your formulation someone must have “pissed him off”, therefore justified; in this case cops.

"after cutting off the car carrying undercover detectives"
Oh, he tried to keep them from getting onto a highway from an on-ramp by driving next to them and staying in their way. Er...no, he tried to stop them altogether by pulling up broadside in front of them and stopping his vehicle. Oh...maybe he sped up in his oncoming vehicle to keep them from making a left turn. Uh...never mind.
Too many contemporary journalists are incompetent. Criminals generalize with phrases like "cut off" and even try to popularize such vague language in order to lie and get away with crimes. That moronic phrase does not exist in traffic statutes.

Its a lot for a postal worker https://www.usjobshelpcenter.com/
After 20 years, career employees make a six figure income Career employees receive full federal benefits and a retirement plan The average postal worker makes just over $72,000 a year with benefits A USPS career could be yours in less than 3 weeks Veterans and Reservists receive a preference benefit during the selection process
