How Colorado’s Green Little Deal Is Set To Ruin The State Economy
The Federalist ^ | NOVEMBER 4, 2019 | Jimmy Sengenberger

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis and his merry band of Green Little Dealers offer a national alarm bell for the national Green New Deal proposal.

...

Advocates for free markets, affordable energy for everyday people, and expanding our miraculous energy independence must closely watch what’s happening among the states. Case in point: Colorado’s Green Little Deal

...

directly attack key industries such as coal, oil and gas, and automobiles while giving considerable power to government to regulate and transition workers, all disregarding economic realities.

...

Polis has established Offices of “Just Transition” and “Future at Work.”

...

The big difference between the GND and Colorado’s GLD has been strategy. While the GND originally proposed radical transformation in one stroke, Green Little Dealers prefer to feed us piece by piece, bill by bill, regulation by regulation.

...

Colorado’s GLD involves three key, harmful tacks: decimate oil and gas production, reduce greenhouse gas emissions by government edict, and cover up the harm with a centrally planned “workforce transition.”

...

Deconstructing the Oil and Gas Industry.

In Colorado, the oil and gas industry sustains more than 230,000 jobs .. more than $30 billion in economic output, and up to $1.2 billion in state and local tax revenue. Plus, it offers high-paying, blue-collar jobs.

...

Undeterred by that pesky “will of the people,” leftist majorities in the state legislature introduced and rammed SB19-181 through in little more than a month. Polis joyfully signed the bill, which will devastate Colorado’s industry. Colorado is America’s fifth-largest state producer of natural gas and seventh-largest generator of oil.

...

Colorado has one of the nation’s hottest economies, driven by low taxes and regulations, a unique Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, and

Governor Jared Polis appointed 35-year-old Shoshana Lew as his new CDOT Executive Director, a history major with no background in engineering nor construction management.

Lew's primary qualification .. was her close relationship to Michelle Obama who called the newly elected governor for a favor - find a job for Shoshana Lew..

I wouldn’t say it’s against the will of the people. You vote for Dems, you know what you’re gonna get.

Isn’t this how federalism is supposed to work? A state makes laws that affects that state and if it’s successful, then try to make it a national legislation. If it fails, the state repeals it and hopefully buries it forever.

Coloradans resoundingly voted “no” last November on a proposed 2,500-foot setback of any new oil and gas drilling from homes, businesses, and waterways... Proposition 112 would have effectively wiped a critical industry off the Colorado map, eradicating an estimated 147,800 jobs by 2030.

Undeterred by that pesky “will of the people,” leftist majorities in the state legislature introduced and rammed SB19-181 through in little more than a month.

Nationally, there are about 3.5 million EXTRA names on voting rolls. .. ~Tom Fitton.

Democrats often steal elections using ballot harvesting, motor voter ballots from illegal aliens, etc.

Ballot harvesting from dead / inactive voters from apartments and post office trash cans.. Motor voter and same-day voter registration makes vote fraud easy.

Sounds like the Colorado government seems determined to join other such states headed the wrong way down the one-way path. Guess there must be some money changing hands under the table. Otherwise, why would they pull a dumb stunt like this?

".... eradicating an estimated 147,800 jobs by 2030...."

Ouch! That's going to leave a mark.

But these "green" freaks think they can make up those lost jobs with "green" jobs.

Making solar panels, wind mills and uh, nothing else.

This will be a disaster for Colorado.

The ultimate goal of these people is communism: the government owns all the means of production, and is the only employer.
It decides who works where and on what.

I’m amazed just how much the American public is fooled just because the left uses nice-sounding names for their movement leftward.

“Green new deal” sounds a lot better than “we destroy energy industries and we take most of the money that you people earn and give it to those who aren’t working. “

Well, SOMEBODY voted them into office ...

Vote against the proposition, but vote for people running on a platform of doing it anyway?

Oil, natural gas, and coal may all be leaning toward the Republican Party. Wind and solar may be leaning towards the Democrats. Therefore, the Democrats will try to destroy the fossil fuel industry in order to destroy the Republicans. And wind and solar will get government subsidies from the Democrats while laundering the money into campaign contributions for the Democrats. Polis may be a creep, yet he is a clever creep. The Kremlin from the USSR would be proud of Polis and his methods.

All it will take is election of a SocialDemocrat President and all of this will go national and USA will slide down into the venezuela.
A Republican Congress will be of no avail as a Democrat President along with the Democrat bureaucracy will simply assume Rule. The Courts and the Legislature will have little or no role.
