McDonald's has fired CEO Steve Easterbrook over his relationship with another employee, according to a press release from the company.
The board voted Friday to fire Easterbrook after investigating the relationship with the unnamed employee, two days before the executive wrote an email to McDonald's employees saying he had violated company policy on personal conduct.
"This was a mistake," Easterbrook said in the email, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. "Given the values of the company, I agree with the board that it is time for me to move on."

"Given the values of the company, I agree with the board that it is time for me to move on." I imagine his wife is telling him to "move on" as well

Doesn’t really matter. In either case, it all boils down to the simple fact that they really, Really, REALLY don’t want lawsuits any more lawsuits than they need. :P

It looks like he was already divorced. As in ‘single’.
What happens to the other person in the affair?

Since it is a fortune 500 company she will be given a sizable bonus and quietly lead out a side door. I have witnessed this phenomena at every company that I have been employed. Typically a senior V.P. who starts dating a much younger staff member. The rumors begin then pretty soon the whole company knows. The V.P. is shown the door and then 6 month's later the young staff member disappears quietly in the night.

I guess when something like this happens in a company where it is forbidden, one of the people should find another job.
