Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton moderated a post-screening discussion of the Netflix documentary The Great Hack, which covers the Cambridge Analytica Facebook scandal and the larger implications data mining has on democracy, at New York's Crosby Street Hotel on Friday night.
Im thrilled to be part of this conversation, but I think the three people sitting here are the ones you need to hear from because theyve been in the middle of this incredibly complicated and serious threat to individual freedom, to the rule of law, to democracy, she said at the top of the conversation.
But filmmakers Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer turned the tables right from the beginning. And you havent been in the middle of it at all? Noujaim responded.
Im like the hit-and-run victim, who you find on the side of the road, Clinton joked. Oh how did that happen? Well, it started in England.

Private citizen Hillary is just a private citizen and should be ignored
Hearing Hillary talk about the “Clinton Rule of Law” is laughable. What she means is teh “Clinton rule of law”, which means “Bill and I get to do whatever the hell we want, but you peons can go to hell...”
Exactly. As my tagline says which I’ve had forever....
Price? Zuck and his mostly liberal crew probably contributed heavily to Hillary and the rest of the Democrats in 2016.
Fine with me if she wants to drive his political donations to the GOP, if only out of a sense of self-preservation.
Yo beetch, you should be in prison by now.
“””Im like the hit-and-run victim, who you find on the side of the road, Clinton joked. “””””””””
Not at all. She is like the hit and run victim you find and then run over a few more times.
I wonder if Suckerberg realizes the left is accusing him of being a Trotskyite who must be purged to save the revolution.
Every proposed cure for the media is really just about more propaganda, especially when it comes from the likes of HRC. No one can be entrusted with the power of content regulation. The only remedy is to break up the big players to promote real competition.
“Vast right-wing conspiracy” SHOULDN’T pay a price?
Next the utterly destroyed car that hit her fat ass.
Thank God Trump beat her
And, out of the millions of people in America, Hillary gets to decide which ads are false. Riiiight.
I can’t believe that I am defending Facebook and Zukerberg. I don’t recall that any “broadcaster” has any responsibility for the truthfulness of ANY ad, political or not.
WHEN is that WENCH going to jail????
That line in the Lord’s Prayer, “Deliver us from evil”? When I speak it, I really, really mean it.
What price have you paid, Hildebeast, for being the lying POS you are?
Agreed.
And why won’t she STFU already??!?!
This psycho b.... was almost our president!!
She CANT LET GO!!
Narcissistic, maybe a little paranoid, no integrity.
She would have destroyed us..
“She needs to re-inspect the computer server in her basement”
It was “bricked” long ago and is part of a landfill in Moscow. Heh.
Zuckerberg is correct to allow people to decide for themselves what is fact or fiction in political ads. This is no different from anything the rest of the media publishes.
The defense I would have liked Mark to make at the hearings would go something like this:
Question: Mr Zuckerberg would you accept and publish political ads that are untrue?
Zuckerberg: That would be impossible, Congressman, because politicians never lie. As proof, I ask you if you have ever lied to your constituents? Could I see a show of hands of anyone on the panel that has ever lied to their constituents? Having seen no one raise their hand and knowing you are all honorable representatives I can only conclude that politicians do not lie to their constituents. Thank you for your question.
“Nice internet business you have there. It would be a shame if something happened to it”
