Chris Wallace: As impeachment vote was cast, 'I can feel goosebumps'
The Hill ^ | October 31, 2019 | Joe Concha

"Fox News Sunday" anchor Chris Wallace said Thursday that he "can feel goosebumps" during an impeachment resolution vote on the House floor during the network's live coverage of the event.

Wallace's commentary comes after the House made its biggest step to date toward the third presidential impeachment in the history of the United States. Members of the House approved procedures for an impeachment inquiry to be moved from closed-door hearings to the public view on television.

"As they called the vote, I have to say I can feel goosebumps," Wallace said. "You cannot overstate how dramatic this is and what a decision the Democrats have made to pursue this course."

The measure, which passed in a 232-196 vote along party lines, establishes rules for open hearings and the questioning of witnesses by members and staff.

Wallace said that an impeachment of Trump is decidedly different than that of President Nixon in 1974, which had bipartisan support.

"There was a bipartisan agreement at that time, even though obviously the impeachment of Richard Nixon was a big deal, but a bipartisan agreement that it needed to go to that kind of an investigation," Wallace, a 51-year news veteran, said Thursday.

"Here you see the party divisions holding, all the Democrats with the exception of I think two, voting for this inquiry, all of the Republicans I think with no defections voting against it, so this city is still polarized despite the efforts of Democrats and their closed-door hearings to try to build a case against the president," he continued.

"What will be interesting to see is what happens when we have open hearings and the American people get to judge and conceivable to put pressure on their representatives and either, 'Yep, there’s a case against the president' or 'Nope, there isn't.' But the Democrats have cast their die now and this is going to roll out over the next two months," Wallace concluded.

The two Democrats who voted against the resolution were Reps. Collin Peterson (Minn.) and Jeff Van Drew (N.J.), who both represent districts in blue states won by the president in 2016.

Rep. Justin Amash (I-Mich.), who broke from the GOP earlier this year, voted for the measure.

At one time Chris wasn’t that bad. Then Trump came along, and he just lost it.

He may have been bad before that, but I sure didn’t notice it as much.

I think of Judge Napolitano in the same category. I used to think he had a pretty good mind, but now it’s like he lost it.

Like a clown putting on his makeup before a big show, Little Crissy felt all goosebumpy. So happy for him. This impeachment effort will go down as a low point in American history, when one party politicized everything to the point that whenever the majority in the House and the party of the President are different, the President is subject to impeachment on phony and ridiculous claims, just so he can be said to have been “impeached”.

If Republicans were tough, they would say that this will create a general rule that any Democrat President will be impeached from here on out, whether actual grounds exist or not, just to remove the notion that Trump is somehow harmed by this insanity. After the next 3 or 4 Presidents go through this, too, perhaps we will be rid of the millenials and socialists who have caused this situation, and we can get back to running the country like a normal, law-based society.

This is nothing but a fundraising effort. I see the mail before it goes out. This is what they’re using to raise money from the whales and to keep guys like Bloomberg and Steyer from running a 3rd party.

They so want what they do to be meaningful and important. It’s not. History will remember them as sell outs, tools for the DNC. They won’t call them journalists, there will be another term coined.

The two Democrats who voted against the resolution were Reps. Collin Peterson (Minn.) and Jeff Van Drew (N.J.), who both represent districts in blue states won by the president in 2016.

In other words, they voted against impeachment based solely for political purposes, the same reason the other Democrats voted for it. The good news is that the Democrat party is dead.

It was not an impeachment vote.

Its the vote to continue an impeachment investigation fishing expedition without rights of due process guaranteed to the President by the Constitution, Bill of Rights.

Chris Wallace is a lefty, and like Chris Matthews, has goose bumps and tingling clear down to his pecker at the thought of impeaching a truly free President who cannot be controlled by the Deep State.Hardly worthy of listening to is Chris Wallace.

An impeachment vote must be held after Articles of Impeachment process thropugh the House Judiciary Committee.

What happened today was not an impeachment vote, it was a scam to legitimize an unconstitutional fiushing expedition.

And it has failed . A scam is a scam is a scam.

"You cannot overstate how dramatic this is and what a decision the Democrats have made to pursue this course."

Hopefully, they just sealed their political doom.

Exactly - The vote was basically just an approval poll of House members over the closed door partisan inquiry process that Pelosi authorized Schiff to conduct through the Intel Committee.

So basically Chris Wallace is getting goosebumps over most Democrat Reps giving Pelosi a High Five over the Kangaroo Court she will now continue to let happen.

Chrissy Wallace is sounding a lot like Chrissy Matthes.

He’s sounding more and more like a hysterical Shemp Smith. No doubt putting Wallace in Shemp’s old time slot is the Fox game plan to offset Hannity, etc.

One party? Little of this farce in the House happens without top cover from the GOPe. The Deep State coupists would have run for cover.Had the GOP Senate shown even a minimal amount of interest in gathering facts on the Dem spy operation in the Trump White House. Then enough House Dems would have gone wobbly and this end this treasonous plot.

Instead, the GOP Senate has given House Dems all the time they want to gaslight a narrative and pivot. We’ve seen this movie before. It’s called Mueller. Except this time it will end in the impeachment of POTUS.
