'A beautiful dog': Trump wants heroic Belgian Malinois in Baghdadi raid to visit White House

President Trump wants the heroic dog who cornered the world’s most wanted terrorist to visit the White House.

Trump released on Monday night a photo of the dog, whose name has not been declassified. The canine is credited with chasing Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi through an underground tunnel in Syria before the terrorist detonated a suicide vest, killing himself and three of his children.

An invite to the White House has not yet been extended to the Belgian Malinois, but Trump wants to meet the canine, a senior administration official told ABC News.

Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Monday the dog was "slightly wounded” but had “returned to duty.”

Trump credited the dog in his remarks Sunday with preventing any injuries to U.S. forces.

“Our dog was hurt,” Trump said while announcing Baghdadi’s death. “Actually, the K-9 was hurt, went into the tunnel. But we lost nobody.”

“It's incredible that nobody was killed or hurt. We had nobody even hurt. And that's why the dog was so great,” he said.

Trump described the animal as “a beautiful dog, a talented dog.”

The White House did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.

I have no idea how this brave pooch survived a suicide vest detonation

I am also very curious to hear the story about this as well. When the news broke that Bahgdadi had off'ed himself with a suicide vest, and the dog had been injured, I was pretty certain the dog would have been injured to the point of having to be put down. Very glad thats not the case and would like to know how it all went down so favorably.

My Malinous is 15 1/2, slowing way down.
But he is comfortable, healthy and we spend every day together.
Great doggo.

“These dogs are HUGELY expensive, then the $250,000.00 to train them!!! “

Why does it cost a quarter of million dollars to train them? If I do pay that amount, will the dog do my taxes, drive my car and install apps on my phone?

Trump was quoted years ago, according to some Libs on Twitter, that he didn’t care for Dogs and thought they were dirty animals. Can’t speak to the truth of the allegations.

Anything to make POTUS Trump look bad when he scores a Victory for our Country.

Some People are Dog People, some are Cat People and some People eat Dogs, like Obama for instance.

That Mask is a great idea to protect the Dog’s eyes.

Don’t want any of that Terrorist DNA blurring the Dog’s vision.

Actually he likes them, and they like him. The reason he doesn’t have ne is he doesn’t have the time and an apartment in NYC is no place to keep a dog.

There was a video of Trump doing every job done by the staff at his hotels, including cleaning bathrooms and walking guests dogs. He had a blast.

The dog is considered an officer...he deserves a medal for valor, bravery, and service above and beyond tje call of duty...and, a purple heart for his injuries. But Im sure s/he will be happy with a steak and a game of fetch 🐶

They are very smart and will know that PDJT is a good man. She will show proper respect because her handlers are showing respect.

I would imagine that the handlers will make sure the dog gets sufficiently familiar with PDJT in a private setting before anything of a public nature takes place....

I just saw a report on training one of these dogs the trainer said the cost was $250,000.00 and the dogs could work for 8 years then they are turned over to a place for kind of deprogramming and put up for adoption!! After the dogs are retired it is hard to get them to NOT want to work takes a special owner AND the adoption agency screens the people wanting to adopt these dogs to the enth degree!! When the dogs get used to being retired they are wonderful pets EXTREMELY protective of their owners and new family!!! Shepard’s don’t usually have a long life span so after all of this the dog probably wouldn’t be with their new family for a long period of time that would be difficult for the adopting family!!! Some Shepard’s are retired early because of hip problems, the Belgian Malinois don’t seem to have the hip problems the same as Shepard’s do!!!

Do those dogs wear ear protection or wear ear pieces + ear protection to understand their handler’s commands? A suicide vest blast could damage a dog’s hearing, I would think.

I wish I could answer. I love dogs but never handled a military dog before. Maybe there is a Freeper who has some background with this.
