Army officer to tell investigators he twice reported concerns over Trump's Ukraine dealings

A high-ranking Army officer and top White House Ukraine expert is expected to tell House investigators Tuesday that he twice raised objections to his superiors about how President Trump and his administration were interacting with Ukraine out of a “sense of duty."

A draft of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman's opening statement says he became worried when “outside influencers” were spreading a “false narrative” about Ukraine.

Vindman will testify behind closed doors Tuesday to the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Oversight and Reform committees. He will be the first official to testify who directly witnessed the July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky that is at the center of the House's impeachment inquiry.

“I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine,” Vindman says in his statement. “I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained.”

Indeed, political views are no ground for consciousness objection

More like mid level. Combat veteran or not, he should stay out of politics. That’s what this is pure and simple. I am concerned about how members of the military believe they no better.

Exactly. Here we have another very troubling data point about where the military stands vis-a-vis the citizens and their elected government.

Yep. President Trump should have fired them all. That’s President Tramp’s big mistake.

Think about it....why would a ex-president set up shop in DC after his term was up? 0buttHole is still pulling the strings of his loyal government “workers”.

That is the thing. This guy is not even objecting to general apolitical policy, such that would get Biden caught for treason, or dangerous disarmament treaties, no, he goes after Trump, in personal attack, typical of the stupid liberal Alinskyist communist trolls on facebook.

Espionage.

He was working for Ukraine without advising the US Govt.

Seriously, he called himself an Ukraine adviser, and was keeping this from the US Govt.

If Trump can be impeached then every president can be. There is no crime. These people are inventing a new crime that they themselves have committed numerous times. Ukraine was Obama/Brennan dirty trick central. They either did the dirty tricks against republican candidates or they had the Ukrainians do them.

Vindman was afraid that Trump would find out what had been going on between Ukraine and our crooks. Guess it could be considered a type of money laundering. US taxpayer mega bucks given to Ukraine with a high percentage of it being given back to a relative few via straw men.

Sedition and mutiny. Why, oh why is this crap tolerated?

If the US citizen committed the crime in a foreign country, against the foreign country, why shouldn’t that citizen be investigated by the foreign country. Why shouldn’t we be asking for an investigation and for the details of the investigation. After all, Biden committed a crime against the US and Ukraine. Besides which, there is a treaty between the US and Ukraine that allows exactly that!

Most of these witnesses are giving their opinions as to what allegedly happened.

'In my opinion it was quid pro quo' is only an opinion about events.

We are sitting back and watching a coup.

I fear we will end no differently than the Jews in Germany.

I know. Everyone has a lot of guns.

They didn’t stop the south from seeing its heritage torn down time after time after time.

Up here we have a police state with speed and red light cameras everywhere. And we do nothing.

We have become a country of non resistance.

That’s bad.

Many Confederate statues in the South were erected by Northern armies.

Yet more political and policy differences wrapped up in a “whistleblower” bow and presented, selectively, as being groundbreaking.

Yes, we knew obambi was setting up shop down the road and visiting those same countries right behind our President on nefarious reasons.

President Trump was being poorly advised by the gopswampers. He should have totally cleaned house everwhere. Of course they were also fighting home tooth and nail the whole time too. Couldn’t even get his cabinet in without huge fights and delays.
