Army officer to tell investigators he twice reported concerns over Trump's Ukraine dealings

A high-ranking Army officer and top White House Ukraine expert is expected to tell House investigators Tuesday that he twice raised objections to his superiors about how President Trump and his administration were interacting with Ukraine out of a “sense of duty."

A draft of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman's opening statement says he became worried when “outside influencers” were spreading a “false narrative” about Ukraine.

Vindman will testify behind closed doors Tuesday to the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Oversight and Reform committees. He will be the first official to testify who directly witnessed the July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky that is at the center of the House's impeachment inquiry.

“I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine,” Vindman says in his statement. “I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained.”

Lt. Col. Vindman should be cleaning toilets in Leavenworth.

Bipartisan support did not exist. Trump was the first PITUS to approve arms instead of blankets and payoffs.

IOW the Bidens get to be criminals and misuse billions in American aid, spy on Trump, and it’s “partisan” to find out.

A few billion dollars of graft will buy a whole lot of false witnesses.

I’m waiting for them to call the White House janitor because his opinion on how to deal with Ukraine differed from Trump’s.

“I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen..."

The President never "demanded" anything from Zelensky, nor did he demand that the Bidens be investigated. He specifically asked if, as a favor, they would look into the firing of Viktor Shokin.

“A few billion dollars of graft will buy a whole lot of false witnesses.”

Yep. There is a bank account and a judge to do the evil bidding on cue. This is a lawless country.

“I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained.”

There is something inherently wrong with that statement. Democrats will pull support for Ukraine if we investigate the Bidens.

Isn’t that exactly what Joe Biden threatened Ukraine with? But of course that didn’t threaten bipartisan support because rinos are worthless.

The phoniest of all statements yet.
Scripted too much. Only a foreign media could produce this.
Indeed US media is paid for by foreigners, and prints what they want.

Beyond insubordination, the LtC should be demoted.

Yet no one in the U.S. government was complaining when Biden was threatening Ukraine to not investigate his son, or when the money given to Ukraine disappeared.

That’s it? He’s talking about a foreign policy decision he disagreed with.

They’re going to have to do better than this.
