Border collies, healers, kelpies aren’t abandoned much in the midwest and western states. Working dogs are generally prized out here. I got a Border collie/kelpie cross and blue healer/border collie cross. It takes space and things to do. Definitely not house dogs or hang out in the yard types.

On the news the dog was identified as a male.

Look closely at the full photo of the dog. Certain "parts" are missing. That photo is of a female dog.

“Lots of the breeds above wind up in shelters and rescues because people bought them as “pets” and couldn’t cope with their innate intensity.”

Here’s our only Bel Mal (also the newest arrival). Apparently okay with other dogs but overprotective with her handler. She probably will be with the rescue for a while.

My cousin trains and raises war dogs. He prefers GSDs to Belgian Melonois’. He imports his GSDs from Eastern Europe because they are stronger and don’t have the hip issues found in a lot of American GSDs. This hero dog resembles an Eastern European GSD. They are silver like this one.

WTF is your point about being a cat lover?!?

wow. What an odd and strange and insecure statement.

Or just plain mean and ignorant and asinine.

Never thought I would be typing this to you.

If I had the choice of keeping my cat ONLY if i put a bullet in three dogs, I would.

He was my best friend through 5 years of brain injury recovery.

I guess that really ####ing disappoints you.

I posted a little thought and I’ll put in a little synopsis. We are a team or pack if you will. Everyone ok, the pack is ok. Cats are standoffish but know when you need them. Dogs are there needed or not guarding the pack. You maybe alpha but pack needs protected. Dogs do the edge and check in, cats not so much. My cats bring in trophy’s to show me. Then hang out. My dogs guard the pack. Pack ok, we’re ok.👍

In Israel, we have alley cats everywhere! Cute? Have one of them lunge at you from a dumpster and then tell me how cute they are. The only thing less cute than an alley cat is a Jerusalem raven. They are not all black like the poets and artists make them out to be. But they do have a grating call just like a crow’s, and they are fat and repulsive looking. Why can’t those @#$@ing alley cats at least eat some ravens.

They taste like crap. I got the same problem with my garage possee. They will get a song bird or dove but pass on magpies. That’s my take. Never ate one. Doves aren’t bad, but to me no delicacy. Cats Know the difference, they probably wouldn’t eat a Democrat since they are crap. Chicken maybe so. IMO

That dog needs to live out the rest of his life spoiled. Give him to me and he can chase cats and squirrels for the rest of his days.

A pity that Morris is dead. He could have told us. It’s no coincidence that Nine Lives had no raven-flavored products.

Cats are actually quite deadly. Unlike dogs, they have retractable claws and know how to use them. They are also much more agile. Squirrels, yes. Cats, no.

“garage possee”

Was that supposed to be “possum” or “pussy”?

We had several Belgian Malinois in our Search and Rescue group. Just fierce high energy dogs, very protective of their owner/handler and “their” environment. Can’t imagine one sitting around eating bonbons!

Siamese cats were bred to guard the ancient palaces in SE Asia.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

And they were formidable, in the tropics the breed can reach 10 pounds plus, AND one aspect few know about Siamese cats: Unlike other breeds they “pack up” and run in large packs.

No one wanted to be attacked by a pack of 50 or 60 Siamese cats. One would emerge looking like shredded wheat if not dead from loss of blood.
