Rebecca Frankel did a good book about dogs in the Military called War Dogs. Be advised not all of these dogs and handlers get home safe but the book was very good to inform people about the program to train and maintain war dogs in our conflicts. Certain breeds are prized for the smarts, nose, and devotion to their handlers and those around them. The worst thing to see is one coming for you with its game face on. Glad this dog made it. Some dont. Thanks for the link.
Love her.
A True American Heroine
That dog should be retired to a nice home where she can sleep on a bed and eat bon bons. The trauma that she must have gone thru is just horrible. The dog doesn’t need that again.
Yep. My wife and I are looking into them
The AKC site is very complimentary
It would have been interesting to let a hungry lion loose in the tunnel with Bag Daddy. You didn’t say how big of a cat was useless on the battlefield.
“...A cat wouldve just stared at al-Baghdadi as he ran away...”
I can think of a few cats that would’ve been very useful against Al-Baghdadi.....
Tiger
Lion
Cougar
Jaguar
Leopard....
Exactly. And how did that work out? Our cat woke us up at 2:00 am to tell us there were coyotes outside. Duh. There are always coyotes outside.

I’ve handled over five hundred German shepherds plus a dozen plus Belgian Malinois over the past ten years as part of a German shepherd rescue.
Take it from me: a Belgian malinois is not for the average pet owner unless you are a real experienced dog handler. Our ex-military people call them mallinuts and mallingators.
Our property, heck, our family belonged to a feral ally cat. It would bloody any dog that menaced our animals or children. One german shepherd was blinded and had to be put down.
Who’s a good kitty!
I yield to no one in my admiration for war dogs, but cats have also served:

The Supreme Court is out then. Darn! LOL.
That dog won’t accept disability or free dog chow.

“A Belgian Malinois - theyre born working dogs. Next to German Shepherds, their courage and loyalty are the stuff of legend”
Wondering if the transition to Belgians over the recent years is due to less in breeding / joint issues?
Great video! CATs will stop those dirty DOGS!
“But I think you can praise the dog, without the need to bash cats that was irrelevant and unnecessary.”
Yes. Cats are so cool. Our Siamese busted up a family of shrews, which I never knew to exist around here. He brought them to me, one by one.
Funny pic.
I remember some previous cats curling up on my chest while I was sleeping. :)
“If that cat could talk, what tales he’d tell about Della and the Dealer and the dog as well; but the cat was cool and he never said a mumbling word......”
