ISIS ALREADY HAS A NEW LEADER, BUT BAGHDADI MAY NOT HAVE BEEN RUNNING THE GROUP ANYWAY
Newsweek ^ | October 27, 2019 | TOM O'CONNOR AND NAVEED JAMALI

Posted on 10/28/2019 1:34:22 AM PDT by be-baw

Back-to-back U.S. operations Saturday and Sunday have resulted in the deaths of Islamic State militant group (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and spokesperson Abu al-Hassan al-Muhajir in Syria, but the organization has already designated a successor, Newsweek has learned.

Abdullah Qardash, sometimes spelled Kardesh and also known as Hajji Abdullah al-Afari, was said to have been nominated by Baghdadi in August to run the group's "Muslim affairs" in a widely-circulated statement attributed to ISIS' official Amaq news outlet, but never publicly endorsed by the group. Though little is known about the former Iraqi military officer who once served under late leader Saddam Hussein, one regional intelligence official asking not to be identified by name or nation told Newsweek that Qardash would have taken over Baghdadi's role—though it had lost much of its significance by the time of his demise.

Baghdadi, who died after detonating a suicide vest following a Delta Team operation first reported by Newsweek, built ISIS' self-styled caliphate out of Al-Qaeda's Iraqi branch, but the official said that the influential hard-line cleric's role had become largely symbolic.

"Baghdadi was a figurehead. He was not involved in operations or day-to-day," the official told Newsweek. "All Baghdadi did was say yes or no—no planning."

Maybe we should act like the folks they celebrate. Storm THEIR offices and occupy their lobby. Scream and curse them as they try to enter or exit the building. Throw bricks through the windows just like in Portland. Hound them and block their cars. Ruin their meals at their favorite restaurants and show up on their homes at midnight with torches and bullhorns. Let’s find out what it’s like to be good leftists.

I suppose the CIA needs to visit Newsweak, they seem to have advanced knowledge of the ISIS hierarchy. That level of knowledge has national security implications.

...or they’re just full of sh*t.

These bitter petty Rat LOSERS will do ANYTHING to pretend killing Baghdadi is no big deal.

I’m sure there is a new ISIS leader, a new one has been chosen. We will kill him too. Same with the next one. Same with the next one.

The new ISIS leaders will be more incompetent and stupid each time. We will destroy them all.

I do a lot reading too.

You can get hot.

Let me tell you something. A question stirs the conscience but accusation hardens the will.

If I say something incorrect, you and the other can ask to clarify or “inform” me.

It is bearing false witness to accuse me of something that I did not do. He is the liar.

We were told by the Obama that an unarmed man who they insisted on calling Osama Bin Laden, which is the premise of my origin comment. The entire story is most likely a lie like everything Obama said.

Yes, you get it.

I can’t recall calling anyone a liar here, I try to avoid that kind of thing. At the end of the day, a lot of us would get along if we were all in the same room.

Will SNL have a skit on “keeping up with the Qardashians”?

That’s decent. You’re quite new, and it’s good for new people to be involved without feeling alienated.

So, Newsweak doesn’t realize that the Caliph isn’t a trigger-man? That saying “yes or no” to operations constitutes Leadership if an organization? They have simply lost their minds — TDS makes people stupid.
