Michael Horowitz, the U.S Department of Justice’s (DOJ) inspector general (IG), said Thursday that he is almost done finalizing the report into possible abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
Horowitz made the revelation in an October 24 letter addressed to House and Senate leaders.
The IG anticipated that the report would be released to the public with “a few redactions,” adding:
Given that our draft report is lengthy, and concerns sensitive national security and law enforcement matters, we understood that it would take the Department and the FBI some time to work through and appropriately mark the entire report. I can report to you that the [finalizing] process is ongoing and nearing completion, and we are working through these issues constructively with both the Department and the FBI.

After we receive the final classification markings from the Department and the FBI, we will then proceed with our usual process for preparing a final report, including ensuring that appropriate reviews occur for accuracy and comment purposes. Once begun, we do not anticipate the time for that review to be lengthy.

What a stupid process. The IG, who is supposed to be the neutral party, investigates wrong doing by the FBI regarding FISA abuse and then let’s said FBI redact things in the report.
Continued lack of rapid decisive progress in prosecutions tells me that everybody’s guilty on BOTH sides of the aisle.
No Justice. Only “just us”..... Just freakin’ great.

Most people think that IG’s are watch dogs but they are actually GUARD DOGS protecting their own agencies.

The laid out a series of events that need to yet occur before the release of the report. And it did not sound like all those things could occur in a very short time. Certainly not less than a month or more.
There’s no massaging to toke it down a notch I hear but the question is how hard will IG Horowitz come down on the Swamp as he is friends from back in the day with James “Cardinal” Comey.
Then there are the reports about the evidence in the DOJ IG Report being substantial for US Attorney John Durham’s investigation. If true, we may see the criminal referrals already being acted upon by Durham.
If that proves true, then this FISA Abuse Report won’t be a dud, it’ll be a firecracker.
Report is said to be mostly unredacted probably because it doesn’t have anything in it worth knowing about. Likely sugarcoated from front to back due to a small concern of IG Horowitz, he wants his body temp to remain at 98.6 degrees.
This is the same IG who found no wrongdoing with running guns to Mexican cartels....
Exactly. You can go on Amazon and buy no less then 25 books on who did what where when and why. Why we are waiting for these assclowns to finish a report anyone probably already read is infuriating. There needs to be a time limit on these investigation and expedited rulings.
