Romney, Collins, Murkowski only Senate GOP holdouts on Graham's impeachment resolution
The Hill ^ | 10/25/2019 | JORDAIN CARNEY

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on Friday that all but three GOP senators had signed onto his resolution condemning the House impeachment inquiry.

GOP Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Mitt Romney (Utah) have not yet signed onto the resolution, according to an updated list of co-sponsors shared by Graham the day after he introduced the measure.

A spokesperson for Collins didn't immediately respond to a request for comment about whether or not she would back the resolution, which formally opposes the impeachment inquiry and urges House Democrats to hold an official vote on it.

A spokeswoman for Romney noted that he said on Thursday that he would look at the resolution.

"I’d like to see a vote taken in the House to decide whether there is support for impeachment. I’d love to see a more open process," Romney said.

Murkowski also told reporters on Thursday that she hadn't yet read the resolution.

The resolution also says the House should give President Trump "due process" including "the ability to confront his accusers" and that House Republicans should be able to subpoena their own witnesses.

May they all be in the same plane together.

Then they can name the airport in memory of all three.

Heads will explode if he loses the vote in the senate but remains in office.

I think it will be 52-48.

Romney and MooKowSki will vote with the Rats, Manchin will vote with the GOP.

We always knew the Bobsy Twins would side with the Dems, and it was a foregone conclusion that Willard would.

Manchin will vote with the GOP.

And risk facing a well funded primary challenger?

Collins also voted to confirm Neil Gorsuch in addition to Brett Kavanaugh.

Collins also voted to confirm the overwhelming majority of President Trump’s other picks for the federal judiciary.

She also voted for the president’s tax cuts.

Otherwise....yawn.

A business associate here in Maine who knows Collins once told me, “She’s a nice lady, she’s just not very conservative.”

I’d rather have someone else in the Senate from Maine, but here we are.

Someone was going to challenge Collins in the primary next year, but President Trump asked that person not to.

One would think that when years of quid pro quo catch ball with their party gets them no power nor pork for their state, they’d figure it out.

All they get is TV face time.

Perhaps narcissism the motive.

Maine’s Second Congressional District, 80% of Maine and, at 27,000 square miles, the largest congressional district East of the Mississippi, was carried by Trump by 10 points in 2016.

This district’s GOP Congressman, Bruce Poliquin, was “defeated” in 2018 because of Rank Choice Voting, even though he received 2,500 more votes than democrat Jared Golden.

There was a blue wave in 2018 in many areas of the country; Maine had it’s biggest blue wave in many years.

Not so sure it will last. On Maine talk radio, people are red-hot seething with this RAT witch hunt in Washington against our president.

Now Maine’s First Congressional District....20% of Maine’s land area in the southeast corner of the state....I’ve heard people call the First CD here in Maine “North Massachusetts.” THAT district is like a suburb of Massachusetts.

Maine also has Constitutional Carry and Open Carry....even switch blades were made legal in 2015.

The RATS proposed some gun grabbing bills for the new legislative session beginning in January.

One proposed bill was to require gun owners to get liability insurance. Another bill would have banned semi-automatic rifles in Maine, the safest state in the country.

Both bills were pulled and tossed yesterday. Neither bill will be on the legislative agenda in January.

Former Governor Paul LePage was term-limited in 2018.

Instead, we got a dem moonbat, Janet Mills.

Governor LePage said he wants to run for governor again in 2022, which he can legally do at that time.

Collins HAD a Republican challenger, but the president intervened and asked that person not to run.

Time for Susan to step down unless there's no good Republican (I should know but don't) to take her place.

OR she should proudly sign the thing and tell the people shaming her about the Kavanaugh vote to go screw.

She is, unfortunately, a very positive woman and therefore not capable of seeing that the forces aligned against her aren't just poor souls with whom she hasn't successfully communicated.

At this point she's a caricature of the saying that you can pick north or south but if you stand in the middle of the road you'll get torn to pieces.

Riddle me this, Judy.

the real significance of Graham’s resolution and the fact that all but three GOP Senators joined as co-sponsors is that it sends an irrefutable message to the House Dems that if they DO impeach, there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell that the Senate will convict, so the only thing that would happen in a Senate trial is that the Senate would open the entire can of Dem/DeepState/FakeMedia criminal collusion for all the world to see laid out plain as day, while such a House impeachment vote would expose 35 vulnerable Dems to possible defeat in 2020, with the Dems losing the House ...

the House Dems would be committing total suicide to vote for impeachment, which leads me to believe that they never intend to vote, which is why they’ve decided to turn their Kabuki theater into a secret Star Chamber where they can claim anything they want with full complicity of the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia for the next 12 months in a misbegotten attempt to weaken Trump for the 2020 election ...

Just went to Startpage.com to see how Susan Collins was doing with Maine voters, as of Oct 15.

She has a 35% approval and a 50% disapproval rating.

HER LOW APPROVAL IS ...NOT...BECAUSE OF THE KAVANAUGH VOTE.
IT IS BECAUSE OF HER LACK OF SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP.

I wish POTUS would go to Maine and endorse her opponent!

Maine has only 2 Electoral votes, BUT, she causes more trouble than those 2 votes are worth.

Her expiration date is WAY overdue.
