This weekends planned power outages could be the largest yet in California, as utilities such as Pacific Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison order wide blackouts to prevent more blazes and more wildfire liability amid heavy, hot winds.
PG&E, which has 5.4 million electric customers and provides power to 16 million Californians, was projecting Thursday that it could shut off power across nearly all of its territory in Northern California on Sunday and Monday because of ferocious gusts.
This system will likely be the strongest event of the year from a wind perspective, the utility said on its website. Federal forecast agencies are in alignment that this will be a high-risk weather event.

Makes you wonder just how many on the board of PG&E have stock in generators.
Has Newsom had his power turned off?
Our relatives have transferred their kids out of an East Texas public school to a many miles away private school this year because they aren’t taught any US history before Clinton’s presidency.
“Plan to vote R.”
I have done that since Jimmy Carter was president. My plan is failing here.
Studio city and Beverly Hills will continue to run CA until they get their power cut. Notice these power cuts aren’t happening there.
Hmmm...Who is John Galt?
History is a dangerous thing for those who want to produce brainwashed leftist automatons...
Anyone seen Klatu and Gort in CA?
Gubamint by Collective..
I don’t remember voting for that.. and I’ve been voting here for close to 40 years.
Burn Baby Burn!!!
Wasn’t that an old ‘Underground’ chant?
Now it’s a leftist political directive.
They don’t clear the underbrush. That’s the biggest factor..In a sane world they would be sued into oblivion for all the damage they’ve caused.
Making the grid ‘smart’ and cleaning it up in power line corridors passing thru wooded areas and such is a multibillion proposition.
Upwards of 20 billion for starters is my best guess early on.. The CPUC and PG&E have done no one favors this latest fiasco.
It seems to me that there is plenty of blame to go around.
They are the stupidest bunch of moonbats ever assembled. Too stupid to see that they routinely vote for their own doom.
I had a liberal tell me once that if they had their way, the rest of us would be living in caves and they would allow us to have candles if we were good. How prescient.
Can't find it now, but someone did a parody of that classic nighttime satellite of North Korea vs South Korea, with a blacked out California replacing the Norks.
Suspect it is prophetic.
Thank you (see post #94). It's been archived as I think this story, or ones like it, will not go away.
Given the millions more people registered to vote, than actually live here, combined with no voter ID at the polls, and the illegals who vote because they receive flyers from the democrat party in Spanish, in their mail, and outreach by dems on Spanish radio/tv, telling them it's ok to vote in the elections- there can be no doubt that the democrats cheated their way in.
But what can be done about it?
Normally if you have a state completely controlled by one political party , and that place is in shambles, fires, blackouts, trash, poo, needles everywhere, outrageous taxes, and highest gas prices anywhere, you'd think the other party would win the next elections ina walk. But that's not happening.
So, is the Republican party here totally incompetent? Or is the cheating too much to be overcome? Or is it a combination of both?
In any case, the people of California do not deserve what has happened at the hands of the Corruptocrat party.
True, they’ve let the forests run wild. I’ve been told the environmentalists changed a rule from twenty feet brush and trees from power lines to merely four feet. PG&E would have to shut down power in high winds with an easy four foot sway not including all the brush flying in the winds.
Don’t know if that’s true or not.
lol
> Same in PA. Take out Philly and Pittsburgh, and the state is really red. Hell, we refer to it as Pennsyltucky... <
Pennsylvania...Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, with West Virginia in between.
I have the Nextdoor app which you can also view on the pc. Someone commented about the electric bill they are paying every 2 months in the San Fernando valley area. I am in 91304. It was over $1,000. Many comments saying the same thing. Some $1,300 with some even more. Not big homes either.
Others saying they have solar and pay... $30!
Water and sewage bills have also gone way up. People saying 5 times over the rate from last year.
Anyone else in the valley or Los Angeles area with similar bills?
