More than a few exasperated pro-Trump folks have been asking, Whats taking the Justice Departments Inspector General so long to release his findings? The answer? It doesnt matter. It doesnt matter when its released and it wont matter whats in it.
Listen, I hate to be Debbie Downer here but the anticipation surrounding this report is rooted in the hope and sincere belief that its pages contain such shocking detail of government abuses and corruption within our intelligence agencies the nation will roil as one with cries for justice and vindication for Donald Trump!
Sorry. Its not going to happen. Of course there were flagrant abuses. Theres already ample evidence the 2016 Clinton campaign was guilty of foreign collusion and our FBI used the outcome of that collusion to knowingly mislead a FISA court to obtain warrants. We know those warrants were then used to spy on American citizens within the Trump campaign. This was followed by well-documented leaking to the press, lying, internal political collusion and the setting of perjury traps by Barack Obamas CIA and DOJ.
But again, we already know these things occurred. Will we learn of even worse abuse? Perhaps. Will anything change? Nope. Not just because Democrats and the media will ignore it. Sadly, so will the Republicans.
Attorney General Bill Barr, whom I consider the most important public servant next to Donald Trump in a generation, is being viewed skeptically by many Trump backers because of his lack of media air time and that weve not heard details of any heads rolling inside DOJ. Ive heard it said by many skeptical MAGA voters that Barrs no different than the rest of the deep state if there arent indictments. Lock them up or else!
Barr is a thorough, patient, methodical guy. Hes not going to rush this because we want him to. Hes not thinking about the next election. I have no doubt hes trying to clean up the DOJ and expose the craven behavior of those in the highest ranks of the organization. But even if he exposes criminality, its not going to sway a single Democrat currently in the process of gas lighting the country over Ukraine.
President Trump is right when he says Democrats fight dirty. Their two biggest attributes are theyre vicious and they stick together. They dont have Mitt Romney in their midst, Trump said Monday during his cabinet meeting.
Hes referring to the pathetic story of former Republican presidential candidate and now Utah Senator Mitt Romneys admission that he uses a fake Twitter account to monitor his favorite personalities, such as squish, RINO-types who write for the Washington Post. He apparently likes to bravely tweet correct-the-record comments to those critical of him without being seen. Some kind of petty, personal therapy session, I suppose. A real profile in courage.
He also loves to be seen on cable TV as 2019s version of McCain attacking President Trump whenever invited. Much like his late predecessor, he couldnt win a presidential election so he decided to build a career attacking those who could - especially if the winners are in his own party.
In Romneys case, much like McCains before him, the addiction to being in the spotlight and being viewed as the Republican his Democratic colleagues and mainstream media would respect was always far more important than whether or not the electorate respected him.
The other question beginning to percolate in many conservative circles is Whats Lindsey Graham up to? The powerful chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee has been threatening for months to haul this character or that character up to the Hill to testify. Theres only one problem. Hes never called anyone to testify and doesnt appear ready to do so any time soon.
Former chair of the committee and long-serving Republican Senator Chuck Grassley tweeted this week, All of the delays and excuses why the Horowitz IG report isnt public yet after several months of anticipation of its issues leads me to the suspicion its going to be deep six by the deep state.
Well, what are you and your colleagues doing about it over there in Judiciary, senator? You dont need to wait for the report to begin hearings with the suspected players in this sordid tale of government abuses. But youre not acting either. Why?
Former D.C. bureau chief for Investors Business Daily, Paul Sperry, tweeted his theory of the inaction. Perhaps the reason Graham wont hold hearings to get to the bottom of the origins of #Spygate and the political espionage conducted against Trump is because we might learn he was working with his bosom buddy McCain to push the dossier to smear Trump.
I hate how correct I fear Mr. Sperry may be. And I really hate how likely it is Graham isnt the only Republican of whom we should be suspicious.
A new Rasmussen poll released this week finds just over half of voters still believe in the likelihood of an illegal, high-level effort to stop the Trump presidency, but not nearly as many expect anyone to be punished for it.
Those likely voters are correct. It did happen. But nothing will happen to the guilty parties - except next years election. Thats voters only recourse. Donald Trump came to drain the swamp and theres plenty more work to be done. Unfortunately, his party swims in the very same swamp.
Its up to voters to help the president drain it. Well drown in it waiting for the GOP.
He’s probably right, but I can’t stand Stigall. You know he hates Trump, even when he tries to hide it a little.
Grassley, Graham, they are all as phony as a $3 dollar 0bama bill. Remember Grassley was so furious with Ballsy FOrd he was gonna make her pay.... Graham was so enraged he blew up on National TV. Graham was gonna for sure get to the bottom of Ballsy Ford. Crickets, from both of them.
The only coverage from MSM that will ever happen is if federal marshals raid Clinton and other associates homes with guns drawn and march them ALL out in cuffs with blood pouring out their faces.
There better be referrals for bringing these people to justice or there will be lots of trouble.
We want to see the DOJ give us equal justice under the law
or we want them fired for doing nothing but cashing their
paychecks.
If there are going to be arrests is it better to have a whole bunch done at once or a new one every few days?
To expect one segment of the Swamp to turn on another segment of the Swamp is to not know how criminality and corruption works. The Plan has always been to exclude we the people from government and it’s worked.
Nothing, zilch, nada will come from this IG report. There will be a plethora of tut-tutting, but no indictments. Therell be a hue and cry about the injustice of it all, but thats the system in which we operate. Some simply glide above the laws that govern the rest of us. Thats the primary flaw in this countrys justice system.
A moot point; there wont be arrests.
What trouble? That well complain about it on blogs and social media?
“Hes probably right, but I cant stand Stigall...”
Never Trumper or not he’s pretty much nailed this one.
I agree. I expect the IG report to be inconclusive at best. It was supposed to be out last spring. So it will be late and a few dollars short. A wet firecracker.
If there is one thing I’ve learned, it is that Dems always seem to skate. Sadly, the bureaucracy no longer belongs to Conservatives.
What's interesting is the reason people will attribute to this outcome.
Lindsey Graham has telegraphed that he will use the report as the trigger to pass more FISA law. LOL. Makes as much sense as "gun control" laws preventing gun crime.
Look to laws to make you safe people, look to laws. Puke.
Here is to President Trump achieving more than 300 electoral college votes Nov. 3rd , 2020.
America wholesale is in love with the man who has saved America and the Constitution form a burgeoning leftist movement created by that apologist for America, community organizer president of the dirty name.
Do you think the Dems can stop that?
Even if they impeach Presdident Trump, he can still run for election and win.
I posted this before, but Ill say it again here...
The GOP is at a crossroads. If Trump goes down due to Republican collusion, the party will be decimated for generations. It will truly become a non-entity.
But then, there are those in the Republican Party who seem to be fine with that path...
Worse, Trumps troubles wont be over after he leaves office. The vindictive left will pursue him relentlessly until hes jailed. They wont give up. He will be destroyed if for only having the temerity to run for president to try to bring us back from the brink of destruction.
It is truly a sad time we live in.
And we have NO ONE to stand up for our side...
They won’t be able to remove him, as we have the Senate.
The GOP is absolutely OK with being a non-factor.
It’s their job.
The left is the actor. The right is the enabler. They stand by shrugging their shoulders as we are assaulted.
The left had better be careful here. Americans are already sick and tired of the two tier Justice system and support President Trump, who with nothing left to lose, when he goes full General Pinochet on them.
They wont be able to remove him, as we have the Senate.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Problem is that McConnell so far is willing to use false evidence to go to a Senate trial. The matter should not even go to trial because the president has been denied his Civil Rights and due process under color of law. Everyone knows this.
The Senate has too many never Trumper elitists who want to get rid of Donald, who is a wrecking ball to their vested interests and lobbyists who line many of their pockets.Trump is indeed draining the swamp whichi is why the Senate is not necessarily willing to defend Donald Trump but can be skewing the trial process against him.
Impeached or NOT, Donald Trump can still run in November of 2020, AND WIN.
The People are with him, and he has his own money to spend. He doesn’t need any from the RNC.
