Canada 2019: Live updates8:01 PM EDT: Riding to watch as the votes start really flowing in from the Maritimes: West Nova, where the Liberals had a 59% chance to hold at the beginning of the night. This riding is the first real bellwether riding as depicted in the Bellwether-o-gram: the model puts the probability of a Liberal plurality conditional on winning West Nova at 90%, and the probability of a Conservative plurality conditional on that at 60%, both of which are way up from their overall probabilities at the start of the evening. For what it’s worth, the Conservative candidate Christine d’Entremont is up—with two precincts reporting their votes.

7:45 PM EDT: First actual calls of the night: two unsurprising calls, as the Liberals hold on to their seats in Long Range Mountains and Coast of Bays—Central—Notre Dame, both on the island of Newfoundland.

7:43 PM EDT: Apparently the reason we’ve yet to see any votes in from the country’s first battleground riding of St. John’s East forty minutes after polls closed is that a handful of Millennials decided they wanted to vote at the last minute, and election officials had to scramble to get them all registered to vote. They’ve done so now, and so the counting can begin.

Meanwhile, we have the first real Conservative lead of the evening in Egmont, on the western tip of Prince Edward Island.

...if the Liberals win the riding of Peterborough—Kawartha, their chances of winning the election are estimated to be about 86%, while if the Conservatives win that riding, their chances of winning the most seats go up to just about 100%. So pay attention to those ridings in the top right, which are dominated by the suburbs in the Greater Toronto Area.

In the USA, the media will make things look better for the Left, as far in to night as they can. I assume the same would apply in Canada.

Any indication how things are shaping up yet, from your perspective (even in light of the likely imperfect information at this point).

Isn’t Canadia that place where that black face, dress wearing guy with the roaming eyebrow lives?

So far CPC is doing as well as expected by prediction websites. Not ant better than that. What is alarming is the NDP vote is being eaten by the Liberals.

Hi Bob.

Anyway, doesn’t seem like either can win a majority so the choices so best case is a Conservative minority, I think the bad guys would team up to prevent that.

Hmmm. Trudeau re-elected Prime Minister even though he won a minority of votes and the Conservative Party got more votes and was the “popular vote” winner in Canada.

So I guess that means the Trudeau government is now totally illegitimate and is against the will of the people... right Hillary & Al Gore fans? ;-)

Well, what comes to mind is Israel and Bibi’s inability to form a government

Can Trudeau form a government?

Yes, the left-wing kooks at NDP have agreed to caucus with the Liberals for organizational matters. Liberals + NDP gets them to a governing majority in Parliment, even if the Conservative Party won more seats than Trudeau's Party did.

The situation is more complicated in Isarel, they have about 20 parties with seats in government and nobody can tolerate each other. Blue & White refuse to work with the Ultra-Orthodox Parties, Likud refuses to work with the Arab List Parties, Lieberman refuses to join any government Netanyahu is part of, etc., etc. So they're finding it incredibly difficult to put together a governing coalition of 61 seats.

Liberal Party(Trudeau) 5,915,950 votes, 33.1%
Conservative Party (Scheer) 6,155,662 votes, 34.4%

The people have spoken!

The Conservatives, lead by Andrew Scheer, DEFEATED the Liberal Party by OVER 240,000 votes nationwide, a clear and decisive popular vote margin that is growing every day.

Obviously, Mr. Scheer is now the REAL Prime Minister of Canada.

Trudeau's "government" is totally illegitimate. He has NO mandate at all and is ONLY Prime Minister because of some odd fluke created by long dead white men that allows the LOSING CANDIDATE to seize power on a technicality. What kind of backwards archaic system is that? Shouldn't the person who got the MOST VOTES be the winner?

The rest of the world is stunned and saddened by what kind of coup is happening in Canada right now. It is a complete embarrassment that a horribly unpopular and divisive, racist man like Justin Trudeau can take power. Canada needs to join the rest of the world in having true democratic elections where the will of the people determines the outcome. 😉

I LOVE using the lefties own talking points against them.

I’m trolling them on social media right now to join me in denouncing the illegitimate Trudeau regime that a majority of Canadians rejected, and accept the one, true Prime Minister that the people elected... Andrew Scheer.

I am now calling on them to help organize a Trek Against Trudeau.

“In order to fight for democracy and oppose his illegitimate regime that the majority of Canadians voted against, we must immediately start planning a RESIST TRUDEAU protest at his inauguration now, complete with “HAIL TO THE THIEF” and “NOT MY PRIME MINISTER” signs, women dressed as giant vaginas, puppets of Trudeau as Satan, throwing cold water on his supporters, glitter bombing his staff, etc. Sounds like fun!”

Capital idea. Of course, only ultraleft fascists are allowed to engage in such behavior against normal without penalty.

I post occasionally, often health articles from inside the trade journals. I consult to the State Dept of Community Healh here in GA on their data warehouse. That’s Employee benefits to local teachers, firemen, police, highway crews, school bus drivers, cafeteria workers as well as state employees and the politicians .... and also Medicaid. So roughly 2.5 to 3 million people at any one time.

My database answers all the FOIA requests; all the questions from the governors office, the budget team, the legislators. As in most states, Medicaid is the biggest single item in a state’s budget.

I compare all the lies of the press with my data.
