Something tells me they'll be removed before too long.
NJ.com must be excerpted, don't blame me.
No harm no foul?
Try locking the door?
“Teen” is a code word.
Gained entry as in she took his drunk ass to her room after a party they both got schnockered at?
Gained entry as in climbed in through a window?
Gained entry as in its a coed dorm and her door was open?
Weasel words designed to be intentionally ambiguous.
According to the story, the "teen" is not a student, at least not of Rutgers University.
He is instead a "South Brunswick resident."
Of course, I'm being judgmental to assume it was a "he".
“Gained entry” is synonymous with penetration.
Hold the hell up - the assailant gained entry at SEVEN FORTY AM and RAN AWAY when the female woke up to being SEXUALLY ASSAULTED.

BLAMING THE VICTIM.
Neither.

Criticizing ambiguous wording is not taking a side or defending anything.

The one time my roommate forget to lock the door a man walked in during the middle of the night and just crawled into bed with her.
She kept her fingernails dug into his back and finally managed to talk him out of the door.
Once he was out the door, she screamed bloody murder.
It was quite scary waking up to that. I was like... what, WHAT?
Back then anyone could waltz into the dorm. It could get kind of deserted on the weekend, so you always wanted another person in the bathroom with you if you were about to take a shower.
I had a female roommate like that once. If she fell asleep on the couch, there was nothing I could do to wake her. I didn't try what this guy did, though.
