In a trailer for Kanye West's Jesus Is King that dropped Saturday, the rapper states, "We're here to spread the gospel. I'm not here for your entertainment."
Following a passage from the Bible (Mark 1:15), West states in a voice over, "I'm an evangelist, so my music, my films, every conversation, every room I go in, we're here to save souls, save you from eternal damnation."

BTW, the quote marks are in the original headline. Not sure they’re scare quotes because they are Kanye’s words. But single quotes are standard for headlines, so maybe it’s a diss by the headline writer, I don’t know. But not by me, I respect what Kanye’s saying

There seemed to be a few years of turmoil in his life some time back where he was getting in and out of trouble.
Perhaps that was a soul searching time.

A few weeks ago, his missus was on TV with Kelly & Ryan. I was impressed with her apparent joyful cooperation and participation with and in Kanye’s soul winning efforts. Call me gullible, but I think Kanye is sincere, and his wife as well.
